In the role of Senior Utility Engineer, we'll count on you to: * Provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region. * Develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, preparation of engineering plans and specification for utility relocations. * Work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task. * Be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and Municipal clients. * Perform other duties as needed #LI-JF1 Keywords: Senior Utility Engineer, roadway, highway, railroad, Preferred Qualifications * California PE certification. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook * Ability to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plans * Ability to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plans * Ability to prepare pipeline drawings: plan view, pipeline profiles, cross sections, and utility details * Experience delivering Caltrans drainage projects * Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design * Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. * Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams * Project management skills desirable * Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans * Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
