The successful candidate will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of managing projects to achieve specified objectives. This role demands a high level of expertise in overall project planning, coordination, and control from inception to completion. The primary focus is to ensure the delivery of functionally and financially viable projects that meet stringent deadlines, adhere to authorized budgets, and maintain the highest quality standards. This position is expected to begin in Spring 2026. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data in both the field and office settings. The field activities will consist of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and the oversight of subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and experienced in applying cost-control procedures in a construction or capital-project environment. Responsibilities Analyze and reconcile contractor and consultant invoices against contracts, schedules of value, change orders, and established procedures. Identify discrepancies in pay applications and coordinate with project managers and contractors to resolve issues. Validate progress invoices for compliance with contract requirements, allowances, contingencies, and Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build contract structures. Review, update, and distribute project cost reports, cost records, and specialized spreadsheets. Process contractor change order requests and coordinate alignment with monthly billing cycles. Monitor board-approved contract limits to ensure change orders and invoice adjustments remain within approved thresholds. Prepare monthly accruals, journal entries, cost reallocations, and reconciliations; support year-end close and audit requirements.
