**Job Description**
Join AECOM's Civil Engineer - Highway / Transportation Design Team in Pittsburgh, PA to work on a variety of challenging and interesting projects. Projects range from roadway and site-civil design, highway and bridge projects, traffic engineering analysis, and transportation planning studies. We work on a hybrid office schedule with 3 days in the office/field and 2 days remote.
Recent notable projects include:
+ I-80 Reconstruction (Jefferson County, PA) - Six-mile section of rural interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, interchange ramp improvements, and reconstruction of two overhead bridges.
+ I-70 Reconstruction (Washington County, PA) - Model-based delivery project for a six-mile section of rural interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, interchange ramp improvements, and reconstruction of 18 structures through the corridor.
+ W Washington St Reconstruction (Bradford, PA) - Drainage model-based delivery pilot project for a one-mile section of urban corridor, including full depth roadway reconstruction, sidewalk improvements and drainage upgrades.
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
+ Develop design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details
+ Identify utility conflicts and coordinate resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs
+ Develop construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
+ Implement 3D CADD modeling techniques
+ Develop technical reports, tables, and graphics per client and/or internal AECOM standards
+ Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures
+ Complete interdisciplinary technical reviews
+ Contribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budget
+ Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations
+ Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client's scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making.
+ Provide support to AECOM project managers and department managers

**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
+ Demonstrated experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or similar design highway or transportation design applications
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Design experience with PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects
+ Experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on Roadway, Drainage, Traffic, Site-Civil projects
+ Demonstrated experience with spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software (MS Office)
+ Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
+ Ability and willingness to operate within a hybrid work schedule environment with hybrid teams
+ Professional Engineer (PE) License in any state, or ability to obtain PE within 1 year of hire
+ Degree accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET

+ Design highway and roadway systems.
+ Assist project manager by providing engineering design support (engineering reports, design calculations, quantity and cost estimates) for roadway, hydraulics, and hydrology design projects.
+ Perform professional engineering work involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks.
+ Assist with the strategic growth of the Transportation Design Team and provide mentoring to design team members.

Position Summary:

We have an opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join and lead the solid waste section of our rapidly growing Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Delaware team. Reporting to the PA/OH/WV/DE Resources Business Group Manager to advance the waste practice through solid waste specific service lines (e.g., facilities, landfills, organics, energy from waste, planning, etc.). The primary duties of this position include all aspects of engineering, project management, project pursuits, and client relationship management for projects primarily focused on the municipal solid waste (MSW), coal combustion residuals (CCR), and solid waste planning industries, with an emphasis on system planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, construction management, pollution control systems, and permitting/regulatory compliance. * Establish client relations and be involved in business development, marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.

This position involves working on projects that will encompass initial environmental site assessments of industrial facilities all the way thru decommissioning and demolition. Projects will also include site remediation and post-remediation site development, solid waste management, stormwater design/management, and oversight of construction services, for a variety of industrial and power clients across the U.S.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
Required to travel (25%).
Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio and/or other states with the ability to obtain an Ohio license within 6 months.

**Job Description**
**AECOM is seeking an experienced mid-level civil/environmental engineer to work in the Environmental Business line with an engineering design group on projects involving Integrated Facility Closure.** This position involves working on projects that will encompass initial environmental site assessments of industrial facilities all the way thru decommissioning and demolition. Projects will also include site remediation and post-remediation site development, solid waste management, stormwater design/management, and oversight of construction services, for a variety of industrial and power clients across the U.S.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
+ Required to travel (25%).
+ Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio and/or other states with the ability to obtain an Ohio license within 6 months.
+ Valid driver's License.
+ US Citizenship Required.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Demonstrate advanced knowledge in developing site/civil plans and drawings, including advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D: Create Civil 3D surfaces & grading; process and evaluate raw survey data; create alignments, profiles, sections, and pipe networks.
+ Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
+ Familiar with hazardous materials survey procedures.
+ Familiar with utility planning and abandonment procedures.
+ Familiar with subsurface investigations.
+ Familiar with standard engineering practices, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with power generation facilities, specifically fossil generation coal combustion residuals (CCR).
+ Familiar with federal and local construction permitting requirements.
+ Familiar with construction testing methods and procedures.
+ Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
+ Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, with a desire to work in a dynamic and fast pace deadline-driven environment.
+ Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and coordinate among multi-disciplinary design teams.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Demonstrate experience in storrmwater management and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar programs.
+ Demonstrate experience in solid waste management, CCR impoundment closures, including design and/or closure of landfills and other solid and/or liquid waste impoundments.
