Incorporated: 1979 as WCRS Group plc
Some of Carat's major clients include Fiat, Guinness, Uniroyal, Walt Disney Company, Coca-Cola, Chanel, BMW, Kodak, and Nissan GB. Also in 1984, WCRS acquired the other half of Carat Espace for £131,858,000.
The stock-market crash of 1987 had triggered restructuring within the company.
Carat, Aegis's European media planning and buying network, was created by WCRS in 1989.
Network news is in a losing battle with stations like CNN. In 1990, the networks' audience fell for the first time in history to below 60 percent.
In 1991, Aegis signed the Walt Disney Company, a deal reported to be worth an estimated $100 million.
However, 1991 year-end reports show that pre-tax profits dropped 19 percent, the company's first decline after eight years of growth.
Until his resignation in June of 1992, Peter Scott, chairman of Aegis and Carat's chief executive, was the most visible member of the European network and the man most often credited with steering the company away from advertising and into media buying.
Consequently HAL PG ceased to be an associate and became a wholly owned subsidiary of AGPL.In November 2010 the company entered into a major deal with APM Terminals Pipavav to avail on sub-lease close to 100 acres of land for building a global oil and petrochemicals storage complex.
Towards the end of the year the company partially commissioned the liquid terminal at Pipavav Port with the balance of the expansion of liquid terminal as well as the gas terminal expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
During the financial year ended 31 March 2015 Aegis Logistics established a joint venture with ITOCHU Corporation of Japan.
