SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for tracking, inspecting and testing a variety of sophisticated machinery, including analytical and electronic measuring devices, recording and indicating instruments, and electrical, mechanical and electromechanical calibrated equipment. Must ensure calibrated equipment are tested at approved regular intervals to ensure correct calibration to a standard traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or to a standard provided by the equipment manufacturer for a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 145 Repair Station Quality Management System. This position reports to the Director of Quality of Assurance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Creating Calibrated Equipment identification numbers for new equipment that are being brought into the system.
· Adding calibrating equipment into the system database.
· Tracking all calibrated equipment to ensure they are operated within their calibrated time frames.
· Ensure all required shop equipment under supervision is maintained in appropriate calibration status.
· Troubleshooting, installing and repairing components including analytical and electronic measuring devices, recording and indicating instruments, and electrical, mechanical and electromechanical components.
· Tagging, removing and quarantining any equipment that is out of calibration status.
· Ensure all repair work performed is accomplished in accordance with current applicable manufacturer's data acceptable and approved by the FAA, and in accordance with current NIST guidelines.
· Review and certify new and modified test equipment and special test procedures.
· Maintains a system of keeping records of checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision test equipment, taking steps to ensure that the established check periods are not exceeded.
· Ensure all compliance of Company inspection standards, methods, and procedures.
