TSC is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to support defense manufacturing efforts in Huntsville, AL location. This role is responsible for driving efficiency, standardization, and process improvements across production systems that support mission-critical defense programs. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to optimizing labor, process, materials, space, flow, and equipment in support of high-reliability manufacturing and complex assembly operations.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Provide guidance in the planning, analysis, and implementation of cost-effective production methods for defense-related products and systems.
Lead production capacity analysis package including people, process, materials, flow, space and equipment etc.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and program teams to optimize the utilization of capital equipment, facilities, materials, and labor.
Apply operations research and mathematical modeling to evaluate system performance and support production planning, resource allocation, and decision-making.
Design and improve manufacturing processes and information systems to meet performance, compliance, and delivery requirements.
Participate and contribute to design review and pre-production review (PRR) etc.
Develop, audit, and maintain labor standards and work measurement systems for both government and contractor personnel.
Monitor and analyze labor burn rates, resource utilization, and project expenditures at both the program and cost account.
Lead or participate in the design, installation, and continuous improvement of systems to support assembly, testing, and quality assurance in a low-rate or full-rate production setting.
Identify programmatic risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with systems engineers and project leads.
Lead report preparation, such as WBR, QBR etc for manufacturing systems.
Champion internal training/certification and curriculum preparation.
Mentor and coach junior level engineers.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field plus 3 or more years of experience in an industrial engineering role within a defense, aerospace, electronics, or high-reliability manufacturing environment.
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Knowledge of DoD acquisition and manufacturing standards, such as MIL-STD and AS9100.
Experience with manufacturing planning, resource modeling, and process documentation in a classified or export-controlled environment.
Proficient with advanced plant simulation software, such as FlexSim etc.
Proficient with engineering and manufacturing software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ERP/MRP systems, CostPoint).
Experience with MES, such as Factorylogix.
Proficient with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Project, Visio etc) and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Knowledge of cost account management (CAM) practices and earned value principles.
Exposure to both prototype and full-rate production environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
Electrical lab management experience (including testing, thermal cycling and vibration test etc).
Experience with DoE (Design of Experiment) and SPC (statistical process control).

Responsibilities:
Our small team has developed a game-changing interferometric RF seeker technology which has significant implications for making low-complexity, low-cost, high-performance interceptors for combating raids of asymmetric threats. Our seeker approach is patented, tested, funded by multiple customers, and in high demand for emerging threats.
You will be an integral part of a team developing a best-in-class interceptor around this seeker as our manufacturing lead. Starting from your knowledge of both first principles and practical production challenges, you'll architect, rapidly prototype, and implement the manufacturing systems and processes for highly maneuverable, small diameter (120 mm and lower) surface-to-air interceptor designs. You will develop innovative manufacturing solutions that drastically reduce unit cost, establish lean production workflows, optimize for highly available supply chains, design assembly tooling and fixtures, and create quality control processes that push the boundaries of what's achievable at low-cost in high-volume production. You will be an integral part of a team developing a best-in-class interceptor around this seeker as our manufacturing lead. Starting from your knowledge of both first principles and practical production challenges, you'll architect, rapidly prototype, and implement the manufacturing systems and processes for highly maneuverable, small diameter (120 mm and lower) surface-to-air interceptor designs. You will develop innovative manufacturing solutions that drastically reduce unit cost, establish lean production workflows, optimize for highly available supply chains, design assembly tooling and fixtures, and create quality control processes that push the boundaries of what's achievable at low-cost in high-volume production. Responsibilities:
* Conceptualize the initial process design approach for major phases of large industrial projects through installation, with an emphasis on specifying equipment, calculating loads, ductwork and pipe sizing, selection of equipment such as pumps, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, dust collectors, scrubbers, adsorption/absorption units, chillers, etc.
* Develop Block Flow Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams (including heat and mass balance), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.

* Prepare for and participate in Process Hazards Analysis for projects.

The Apache Sensors Production Engineer is the principal advisor to the PD/DPD pertaining to the sphere of manufacturing and overseeing the production of goods in the Sensors Portfolio. Additionally, the Production Engineer is the principal advisor to the PD/DPD/Gate Keeper pertaining to centralized technical review and processing of proposals received by the Apache Sensors Office.
