We have an opening for a Systems Modeling Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Space Systems organization developing space simulation software for NSS space programs. The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented. This position will be in Dulles, VA. This work does require a TS/SCI clearance and will primarily be performed in a SCIF environment.
In this role you will (based on need):
Establish simulation requirements.
Plan, organize and be involved in the full software lifecycle to develop spacecraft simulation software using modern tools and software best practices.
Develop spacecraft component models from hardware documentation to support modeling and simulation activities across multiple projects.
Work with other engineering disciplines to integrate and validate space vehicle models and simulations.
Develop new and/or integrate existing system simulation frameworks.
Simulate real-time operations, performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
Develop and integrate advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
Model Thermosphere and Exosphere environments.
Performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommend alternative architectures.
Prepare design documentation, analysis, test results and presentation materials for internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or PhD and 4 years of experience, in Software/Electrical/Computer/Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or closely related field.
Current or active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
U.S. citizen.
Advanced 3D graphics development, using OpenSceneGraph, OpenGL or similar.
Advanced programming proficiency with: C/C++, Python.
Advanced programming proficiency with Matlab/Simulink, Windows/Linux scripting.
Solid communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of waterfall, spiral and/or Agile software development processes and continuous development / continuous integration practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform aerodynamic design and analysis of wide range of UAS systems.
Conduct low, mid, or high fidelity CFD simulations to assess aerodynamic or mechanical designs, and/or predict aircraft aerodynamic performance and stability.
Develop and validate aerodynamic models using combinations of CFD, wind tunnel testing, and/or flight test data.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structures, propulsion, controls, systems engineering) to integrate aerodynamic insights into the overall design.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer, you will be a hands-on individual contributor focused on expanding our platform's simulation capabilities. Your responsibilities will :
Taking ownership of technical projects and driving development.
Developing and implementing high-fidelity simulations and analysis for a diverse range of complex systems and validating these models against real-world data.
Configuring and executing large-scale multi-simulation studies, leveraging cloud compute resources for uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis, and optimization.
Performing code reviews for peers and providing technical feedback and suggestions to other engineering teams to drive platform improvement.
Supporting regular contract meetings with technical input and demonstrations to external stakeholders.

Requirements
6+ years of applicable engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in physics, applied math, engineering, or similar
Expertise developing models of complex physical systems
Experience validating simulation models against real-world data
Experience with modern software development and testing practices

Responsibilities:
Provide Subject Matter Expertise on full range Modeling/Simulation to HQDA, G-2, and Military Personnel/Leadership
Directly and indirectly support intelligence initiatives with interagency leadership and personnel
Coordinate with internal/external agencies on modeling & simulation efforts
Assist with certification and curation or reports, technical editing, and portrayals to support intelligence
Requirements:
Twelve (12) years of experience as an Intelligence Analyst (Army Preferred) OR Experience as a staff action officer related to DOD organizations/adjacent agencies
Bachelor's Degree
Understanding of the six (6) Army M&S communities of acquistions, trainings, analysis, etc.
Experience in providing support to multiple competing customers and requirements.
Experience in preparation and presentation of briefings to senior leaders and other ARSTAF action officers. May attend various types of meetings and symposia at the ARSTAF and DOD level.
Security Clearance:
Active TS/SCI clearance is required
