We are seeking an AerodynamicsEngineer with propulsion design and integration experience to join our Aerodynamics team. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experiences within the field of airbreathing propulsion integration and design, analysis, and optimization in advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
We are looking for candidates that embody a solid understanding of fluid dynamics, aerodynamic design, engine inlet and exhaust design, mechanical integration, and aircraft performance. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated use of tools in their tool belt ranging from hand, 1-D/2-D calculations, computational methods, wind tunnels, and flight testing of physical hardware in validating their designs and meeting their objectives. This individual avoids siloing and consciously balances priority and speed with scaling products, and they have a mission focused on supporting our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for aerodynamic design of turbine engine flow paths (inlet, exhaust, secondary flows) on high performance UAV.
Conduct low, mid, and high fidelity CFD simulations to assess aerodynamic, mechanical, thermal, and aircraft performance impact of designs.
Develop and validate aerodynamic models using combinations of CFD, wind tunnel testing, and/or flight test data.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structures, propulsion, controls, systems engineering) to integrate aerodynamic insights into the overall design.
Assist in the development of bench test, wind tunnel test, and flight test plans and data reduction and analysis.
Ownership of simulation propulsion modules and modeling fidelity.
Working proficiency and practical understanding of engine performance and modeling.
Preparing technical reports, presentations, and design documentation.
Present findings to key stakeholders and internal/external customers.
Qualifications:
A Masters's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree plus relevant experience required.
3-5 years of inlet/duct design and solving problems in aero-propulsion and integration of aerodynamics for aircraft and/or UAVs.
Demonstrable experience building and maintaining low and mid fidelity aerodynamic modeling tools.
Applied experience with a Navier-Stokes based CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, Fun3D) including geometry preparation, mesh generation, and simulation debugging. .
Experience with data visualization tools, e.g. MATLAB & Python, Tecplot, ParaView and working in a version control environment, e.g. git.
Industrial wind tunnel testing: model design, techniques, instrumentation, and data reduction.
Applied designs in subsonic, transonic, and high-speed aerodynamics.
U.S. Citizenship or equivalent status required for defense-related work.
Security clearance (or eligibility) is a plus.
Bonus Skills and Applied Experiences:
Expertise in Inlet/Exhaust Aerodynamic design and surfacing.

Role Overview
Otto Aviation is seeking an Engineer, Airframe Stress Analysis to be a member of our team. The ideal candidate has relevant stress analysis experience and a willingness to learn. You will join a team developing the world's most efficient aircraft. Otto Aviation is seeking engineers, who are comfortable working from first principles, work great in a team atmosphere and get things done.
Responsibilities
Perform stress analysis of metallic and composite structural components, assemblies and systems to provide inputs to the design and ensure structural integrity.
Author analysis documentation.
Create and/or utilize Finite Element Models (FEM).
Perform Durability and Damage Tolerance (DADT) assessments.
Review engineering definition for release in the product lifecycle system (PLM).
Author structural test plans and reports.
Compare structural test results to analytical models (test vs Finite Element Model).
Support development of stress analysis tools and methodologies
Support multi-disciplinary configuration development and trade studies
Interface with materials & processes, structural test laboratories, flight test, manufacturing, and customers/regulation authorities
Qualifications/Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
2+ years of relevant industry experience (or 1+ with M.S.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of airframe static and fatigue stress analysis for both composite and metallic structures
Knowledge of industry standard classical analysis methods
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis methods (FEMAP experience is a plus)
Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6/3DX and ENOVIA V5/V6/3DX is a plus

We are seeking a talented and experienced Supply Chain Simulation Engineer to lead and collaborate on the design, development, and deployment of tools and strategies that will enable more effective data-driven decision making.
This individual will provide guidance through advanced analytics modeling and optimizing facilities within the Supply Chain.
The Simulation Engineer should have a firm understanding of distribution operational and automation processes.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with experience telling compelling stories through data-driven insights.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Create simulation models of our distribution centers that will help determine efficiency opportunities.
Understand and have experience with design and / or implementation of automation solutions such as conveyors, sorters, high speed picking and packaging lines, robotic work cells.
Work closely with other teams, such as Engineering and Operations, in the validation of the models and in the design of potential scenarios that will improve the total outcome.
Collaborate in developing a cost to serve model.
Implement and support the new inhouse simulation capabilities - process, tools, training.
Collaborate in the creation of business cases to close gaps and define capex requirements.
Provide advice and insights on improving existing simulation capabilities.
Design interactive business intelligence dashboards to share input and outputs.
Develop and train team to utilize self-service modeling functionality.
Stay up to date with modeling and simulations trends.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
A Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Quantitative Methods, Data Science or related field or equivalent professional qualification/workplace skills.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Requires five (5) to seven (7) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.
Hands-on experience using simulation and analytical tools to solve operational problems.
Practical experience with Simulation frameworks (discrete-event, agent-based) and technologies such as AnyLogic/Arena/EnterpriseDynamics/FlexSim/etc
Project Management / Agile hands-on experience.
Experience working in an Operations environment.
Experience with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik).
Experience pulling and cleaning data from Cloud Platforms (Google, Azure), or Supply Chain Tools (including ERP, WMS, TMS, Inventory & Forecasting Tools).
Experience programming with data analytic tools such as SQL, Python, DataBricks, etc.
Experience transforming CAD data into simulation tools.
Experience building business cases and cost/benefit analysis to support strategic decision making.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues quickly and innovative. Experience leveraging analytic based approaches to problem solving, such as Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, Six Sigma, or other statistical analysis frameworks.
