Departments Available for this Role: Packaging Harvesting Seeding Sanitation Shipping & Wearhouse Grow Room Position Overview & Responsivities: The Production Operator will be responsible for (depending on which department you're assigned to): - Packing leafy greens into containers according to quality standards. - Sorting products for quality, referring poorer quality items to the Quality Team. - Adhering to all safety, food safety, and operational procedures in the seeding area. - Following instructions from the seeding coordinator and machine operator. - Preparing cloth inventory and cleaning seeding areas and equipment. - Operating scales and metal detectors for accurate weights. - Distinguishing between different packaging materials. - Tracking and recording quality losses. - Operating the automatic packaging line. - Cleaning and sanitizing the facility to meet quality and bacterial standards. - Frequently lifting/moving heavy hoses, equipment, and chemical containers (up to 75 lbs). - Assisting in transporting heavy equipment with forklifts or other devices. - Wearing specified protective gear. - Utilizing chemical cleaning solutions with protective gear. - Performing various tasks while standing, lifting, and bending for long periods. - Completing general and routine tasks under supervision. - Demonstrating basic knowledge of necessary tasks. - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead. Qualifications: - High School Diploma or Equivalent. - Experience in food production is helpful. - Effective communication skills. - Basic English proficiency (required for reading, writing, understanding, and speaking). - Ability to work in a cold environment (34 degrees F) for extended periods. - Weekend availability is a must. - Ability to respect and maintain confidential information. - Capability to work within a team environment. - Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. - Ability to operate an electric forklift/pallet jack after training. - Strong time management skills to meet shipping deadlines. - Detail-oriented and organized. - Basic math skills. - Ability to use scales and computers. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
