The Welder's primary function is to provide welding expertise to assist and support maintenance activities, as well as performs fabrication, pipefitting and rigging in the factory.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.
Individuals are required to submit to and successfully pass a Safety Screen that evaluates their ability to safely execute duties and tasks of this position.
Must possess or pass a 4G weld test, fixed plate coupon overhead.
For progressions opportunities must hold current ASME, Section 9 Welding Certification (6G Pipe).
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and MSDS information, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedures manuals. Able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

As an Industrial Pipefitter employee with John Deere in Horicon, WI, you will:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair all factory pipe systems, such as water, gas, oil, and sewer in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, welding, and light assembly, with strong Aluminum welding skills. This role involves working in a truck shop environment, performing precise welding and fitting tasks to ensure the integrity and quality. Duties
Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and welding on various metal components
Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal, aluminum sheeting, piping, and structural steel using plasma cutters, and hand tools
Operate forklifts and other machinery safely to move materials and components
Fabricate custom parts using machining tools or power tools as needed for specific projects
Assist in the assembly of mechanical systems or structures as per project specifications
Maintain a clean work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
Proven experience in welding and fabrication with emphasis on Aluminum tig and spool gun welding
Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and structural repair welding techniques
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
Familiarity with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, assembly processes, and schematics interpretation
Experience operating forklifts
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during fabrication processes
Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects
Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise measurements and quality checks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team on construction sites or shop floors

* Read, interpret, and update blueprints, technical drawings, weld maps, and welding symbols.
* Understand, inspect, and maintain welding tools and equipment to ensure good welding practices and safe operation.
* Ability to plan welding work, order and assemble parts, materials, and consumables for welding jobs.
* Able to qualify and follow weld procedures
* Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime.
* Follow Orica's safety protocols, including PPE requirements and hazard identification.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and preventive maintenance programs.
* Review planned work with the supervisor ahead of time to limit downtime during the assembly process
* Provide accurate and fast estimates on task completions when requested
* Assist in controlling site fixed costs by following or proposing lean methodology for expenditures. Consider alternative solutions.
* Basic computer knowledge to be able to manage documentation.
* Adheres to all company safety protocols.
What you will bring
* Minimum 2 years of welding experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Certification in welding (AWS or equivalent), 1G - 6G plate and pipe, or the ability to pass the performance testing of each preferred.
* Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and stick welding techniques.
* Ability to work with carbon steel and stainless steel.
* Strong understanding of safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions.
* Basic understanding of NDE.
Physical requirement:
* Ability to climb stairs, ramps, and similar structures
* Frequent repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
* Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.

* Must have a valid driver's license
* Stainless, and/or carbon welding certification preferred
