Position Summary: The Dispensary Professional is responsible for guiding patients through the process of selecting the appropriate medicine for their needs and by providing education of medical cannabis products. The dispensary professional is responsible for one-on-one interaction with patients from the time they walk in the store to the time they leave with their purchase and will provide excellent customer service while making the patient feel empowered and confident in their decision. Essential Job Functions: * Register patients/caregivers into the system using their patient ID card and photo identification used to obtain the card, verify the recommendation and status of the patient ID card with Metrc registry; confirm all required profile fields are complete; check guest into the POS system * Using Metrc, verify MME supply available when checking patient or caregiver in, when recommending a medication to avoid over administering medication, and at check out to make sure they are not being oversold * Adhere to any doctors' notes in the system for dosing, medication type, and administration of medication * Provide education to patients on product types, uses, and dosage to ensure maximum benefit for their qualifying condition and symptoms * Confirm medication pulled matches the medication entered into the POS by checking product labels against the patients' cart * Make certain all labeling requirements are completed at check out * Assist patients in person and by phone with inquiries and concerns * Adheres to and educates patients on Missouri laws and regulations as it relates to the Department of Health and Senior Services guidelines including methods of consumption and administration * Assist in daily inventory of cannabis and non-cannabis inventory * Responsible for communicating any activity or observations that are out of the ordinary. * Ensure compliance with applicable state and local laws through all stages of the sale of medical cannabis * Provide support to the General Manager, as requested, to ensure daily operations of the dispensary run smoothly, properly, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations * Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA * Other duties as assigned by your supervisor Qualifications: * Must be at least 21 years of age * Must have a high school diploma, or the equivalent * Must be able to pass all background check requirements and obtain licensing as set forth by the Department of Health and Senior Services * Retail or hospitality experience, preferred * Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation * Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: This section outlines the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the Dispensary Professional to be successful in their role.
