Position Summary The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program that supports the physical, social, and moral development of all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and deliver a structured K-8 physical education curriculum that aligns with the mission and philosophy of Catholic liberal education. Teach fundamental skills in movement, fitness, and sports while fostering teamwork, perseverance, and respect for others. Integrate Catholic principles and virtues into physical education instruction and classroom management. Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive environment for all students. Assess and document student progress in accordance with school policies. Coordinate school-wide physical activities and events such as field days, tournaments, or intramural programs. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the holistic formation of students. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community activities. Demonstrate a professional commitment to the mission and identity of the school and the Diocese. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field. Valid state teaching license or the ability to obtain one. Prior teaching experience in a school setting preferred. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learners. Practicing Catholic preferred.
