Ability to work in all phases of small to medium sized projects and / or specialized phase of large, complex projects. Job Description About the Role: The Engineer (HVAC) will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal environmental comfort and energy efficiency within commercial and business service facilities. This position requires a deep understanding of HVAC principles, codes, and standards to develop innovative solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. The engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting existing systems, performing energy audits, and recommending upgrades to improve system performance and sustainability. Ultimately, the Engineer (HVAC) will contribute to creating safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environments that support business operations and client satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe. Proven experience in HVAC system design and implementation within commercial or business service environments. Strong knowledge of HVAC codes, standards (such as ASHRAE), and local building regulations. Proficiency with HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools. Preferred Qualifications: PE or FE Experience with energy modeling software and sustainable building certifications (e.g., LEED). Familiarity with building automation systems and controls. Project management experience including budgeting and scheduling. Certification in HVAC-related fields such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED Accredited Professional. Responsibilities: Design and develop HVAC systems for new construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local codes. Verify designs comply with applicable building codes, updating work as required based on evolving standards and project requirements.
