Position Purpose: A member of the AHC Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President of HR will provide high-level leadership and drive employee experience strategies & policies to create an engaging and meaningful workplace for AHC staff. The VP shall oversee, develop, and execute all the AHC Staff Training and Development Programs.
The Vice President will have direct supervision of Office Administration and Human Resources teams ensuring high level staff performance and department efficiency and effectiveness.
Members of the Senior Leadership Team are expected to demonstrate AHC's Core Values. They are expected to achieve outstanding results, inspire and develop staff, and lead innovation and positive change.
Responsibilities:

ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGIES & RESULTS
Collaborates with the President/CEO and the Senior Leadership Team, utilize experience, business strategy, and networks to create and lead AHC's short term and long-term strategies to foster AHC culture where staff are aligned with the AHC mission & core values. Guides AHC in developing staff skills and performance levels.
Designs the strategy and oversees the development and completion of department programs and initiatives, defining program milestones and metrics. Ensures flawless delivery of all aspects of program and project execution.
Designs and implements a Staff Training & Development Plan.
Builds strong relationships with staff and community partners (e.g. NWA, HPN). Participates in coalitions with a variety of community-based organizations, as appropriate.
Develops and implements training and capacity building strategies and programs.
Serves as a key advisor to the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and liaison to the Board Committee (Governance Committee).
DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS
Leads and executes the development of the organization's strategies for recruitment & retention, compensation & benefits administration, compliance, staff training & development, IT infrastructure efficiency & growth while minimizing organizational risk.
Drives and manages organizational change to increase employee satisfaction and productivity.
Embeds and collaborates with leadership to create authentic and meaningful inclusion of DEIB perspectives in AHC policies, processes, and practices.
Maintains and continuously improves HR policies and procedures.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Develops department annual budget. Partners with the CFO in budget planning to adjust for changes in business strategy.
Reviews and monitors budget vs actual activity to identify variances and ensure financial activity is appropriate and correct.
Observes and practices financial stewardship in managing AHC's financial resources.
CULTURE and STAFF ENGAGEMENT
Builds a team culture that supports the organization's strategic direction with a deep commitment to collaboration, accountability, equity, and resident service.
Establishes staff goals and deliverables; provides coaching and evaluation based on those goals to ensure the team maintains a high level of knowledge and competence related to AHC priorities.
Creates the conditions for success.
Engages cross-department collaboration. Fosters transparency and open lines of communication.
Promotes inclusive department practices.
Motivates and inspires staff to achieve goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field is required. Master's degree in HR, preferred. HR certification required.
Experience in real estate preferred
Minimum of 15 years of progressive senior leadership role in managing human resources for mid-sized organizations.
Demonstrated understanding of change management and culture building.
Experience leading organization's DEIB efforts.
Familiarity with local and state employment regulations.

Resident Services Goal: Transformational Engagement to build and sustain healthy, beautiful, and equitable communities where residents can create homes, neighborhoods, and lives they want to live. Our programming centers on four cornerstones: Education, Economic Mobility, Health & Wellness, and Community Engagement.
The Program Manager, Resident-Centered Expansion will play a pivotal role in ensuring residents have a voice in shaping AHC's services and programs. This role leads the Discovery Phase at new or acquired AHC communities, engaging residents through assessments, outreach, and events that inform staffing, partnerships, and programming.
The Program Manager also oversees AHC's resident feedback cycle across all communities offering Resident Services, ensuring alignment with CORES (Certified Organization for Resident Engagement & Services) standards. Working closely with the Manager of Impact & Evaluation, you'll turn resident input into actionable insights that drive meaningful change.
This position supervises Resident Engagement Specialists and supports AHC's broader commitment to transformational engagement, ensuring residents are true partners in building strong, thriving communities.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Services Expansion & Discovery Phase
Lead the Discovery Phase at new/acquired communities to identify resident strengths, needs, and priorities.
Engage residents through open houses, events, one-on-one outreach, and assessments.
Recommend staffing models, program offerings, and partnerships based on findings.
Support the onboarding of Resident Services staff at new communities.
Resident Feedback & CORES Implementation
Manage the feedback cycle, including surveys, focus groups, community scans, and Property Services Plans.
Ensure each AHC community offering services completes the full feedback cycle every three years.
Partner with evaluation staff to analyze resident input and apply insights to strategy.
Train site-based staff in feedback collection and use.
Oversee CORES certification and recertification processes.
Staffing & Management
Supervise Resident Engagement Specialists/Coordinators.
Provide coaching, training, and feedback to ensure high-quality resident engagement.
Develop tools and resources to help staff apply resident feedback effectively.
Collaboration & Strategic Alignment
Partner with Program Managers, cross-departmental teams, property management, and community partners.
Serve as an internal advisor on CORES standards.
Fundraising & Financials
Support fundraising through grant proposals and reporting with data and resident stories.
Manage budgeting, expenses, and vendor processes for feedback initiatives.
Data Management
Maintain reliable data on resident assessments and program outcomes.
Oversee centralized systems for feedback tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social work, urban planning, public health, public administration, nonprofit management, sociology, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in community development, resident services, or social work (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
At least 3 years of experience in services coordination, program development, or CORES-related work.
Proven ability to lead participatory engagement efforts (assessments, focus groups, listening sessions).
Experience working with diverse, multicultural populations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; PowerPoint and Publisher preferred.
