1991

In 1991, Ahlstrom bought another German company, Jagenberg, adding its paper production plant in Altenkirchen.

2000

In early 2000 both companies started to re-focus into fibers.

2001

Ahlstrom Corporation celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2001 by breaking up.

2002

2002: Papelera del Besos, a filtration and specialty paper maker in Spain, and the specialty filtration operations of the United States company FiberMark Inc., are acquired.

2004

Ahlstrom Corporation, amidst its 150th anniversary celebrations, then announced its intention to go public as early as 2004.
