Job Purpose: The Interpretive Programs team advances Zoo Atlanta's mission by providing engaging experiences that connect our guests to our conservation and research initiatives, our animal ambassadors, and wildlife and wild places through effective interpretation. We empower and inspire guests to take conservation actions to create a better world in which wildlife and humans can flourish together. As a part of the Interpretive Programs Team, Interpretive Guides position is primarily responsible for conducting informal interpretation and interpretive programs to all Zoo visitors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Proactively engage guests in interpretive, educational experiences, including informal interpretation, stage presentations, tours, interactive Conservation Carts, storybook readings, and other activities.
* Raise awareness of conservation issues and empower a diverse audience of guests to take action, through interpretation.
* Perform formal interpretive presentations to large crowds using a microphone.
* Move large groups of guests through various animal habitat viewing areas by leading and providing crowd control for up to 60 guests at a time.
* Provide excellent guest service at animal habitats to ensure a positive viewing experience for everyone.
* Maintain positive professional relationships with co-workers, volunteers, and guests.
* Commitment to learn and master all content and skills needed to provide quality interpretation and programming to Zoo guests, including review and staying up to date on relevant Zoo information through correct, current, and approved sources.
* Assist in the organization and maintenance of educational materials as needed.
* Must attend all Zoo Atlanta mandatory training (i.e. customer service training) as well as Team meetings and workshops.
* Assist with Zoo sponsored events, sometimes in the early morning or evening hours.
* Completion of various additional duties as assigned.

* Interpretive Guides II additional Duties & Responsibilities:
* Facilitate the Giraffe Feeding program and provide an enjoyable experience that includes interpretation and safe interactions between animals and guests.
* Manage credit card transactions with Zoo guests for paid programming.
* May complete and maintain animal ambassador handling status, per Zoo Atlanta animal handling policies.
* Interpretive Guide III additional Duties & Responsibilities:
* Facilitate all Animal Immersion Programs and provide an enjoyable experience that includes interpretation and safe interactions between animals and guests. Programs include, but are not limited to Giraffe Feeding, Keeper for a Day, and Wild Encounters.
* Must complete and maintain animal ambassador handling status, per Zoo Atlanta animal handling policies.
* Assist in leading program orientations, trainings, and mentorship once proficient in programming.
* Model appropriate behavior and professionalism and be a resource to other Interpretive Guides.
Qualifications:
* Understanding of AZA-accredited institutions and related functions
* Very strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Experience working with children and families
* Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Professional dress, appearance, and conduct
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Chrome.
* Bilingual in conversational Spanish desired.
* Interpretive Guide I:
* A minimum of 6 months of experience with interpretation, public speaking, formal or informal education in a zoological, museum, camp, school, non-profit or related setting.
* Interpretive Guide II:
* A minimum of 1 year of experience with interpretation, public speaking, formal or informal education in a zoological, museum, camp, school, non-profit or related setting.
* A minimum of 6 months of experience working in an environment around animals.
* Interpretive Guide III:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience with interpretation, public speaking, formal or informal education in zoological, museum, camp, school, non-profit or related setting.
* A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an environment around animals.
Schedule/Availability:
* Zoo Atlanta is open to the public 363 days out of the year.
* Flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, and some evenings are required
* Must be able to provide at minimum, the following availability:
* 3 consistent days/week, including one consistent weekend day/week.
* Shift time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
* Shift time may vary based on the season and program.
Education:
* Level I: Associate's degree or two years of college education majoring in Education, Communication, Interpretation, Biology, Zoology, Environmental Education, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Level II & III: Bachelor's degree majoring in Education, Communication, Interpretation, Biology, Zoology, Environmental Education, or equivalent relevant experience.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
* National Association for Interpretation, Certificate of Interpretive Guiding (CIG) preferred
Physical Demands:
* Must be able to lift/carry/pull 40 pounds.
* Must be able to stand and walk for extended lengths of time.
Work Environment:
* Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Must be comfortable spending significant amounts of time interpreting in close proximity to all species, including reptiles, amphibians, spiders, and insects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Management Responsibilities:
* Manage the daily functions of the accounting department, including leading personnel, as directed.
* Ensure that processes are effective, efficient and documented.
* Schedule month-end accounting activities to meet reporting deadlines.
* Ensure that systems are continually improved and operating to their fullest extent.
* Set self and department goals and complete annual performance reviews for reporting personnel.
Reconciliations:
* Prepare and/or review month-end general ledger account reconciliations.
* Ensure timely and accurate resolution of reconciling items.
* Ensure that inter-fund balances are cleared and reconciled in a timely fashion.
Financial Reporting: Manage financial matters to include:
* Prepare the monthly financial statements under ASC 958 not-for-profit accounting rules.
* Prepare the monthly department budget versus actual report.
* Interface with department managers to identify causes of expense and revenue variances to the budget.
* Assist with requests for financial information for grants, surveys, etc.
* Provide data and pricing analysis to support new initiatives and assist in evaluation of pricing and profitability effectiveness.
* Prepare annual 1099s.
* Manage investment activity and reporting and executing transactions in the Endowment Fund.
Period/Annual Closing: Executive Team Management:
* Prepare and/or review journal entries for period closing
* Coordinate accounting personnel schedules to ensure all reports are completed
* Maintain monthly checklist and calendar to support closing process.
* Prepare and/or review all year-end journal entries.
* Prepare the annual audit workbook with all supporting documentation and roadmap for financial statements and manage external audit process.
Annual Budget:
* In conjunction with the CFO, analyze and create annual attendance budgets.
* Prepare departmental budget templates and perform first review of submitted budgets.
* Prepare certain department budgets including Finance and Operations.
* Assist in preparation of revenue budgets for ticketing and concessions.
* Consolidate department budgets and ensure cohesiveness across reporting.
Banking & Cash Management:
* Monitor daily and weekly cash balances.
* Ensure timely and accurate transaction processing, recording, and reconciliation.
* Monitor and manage credit card accounts and relationships.
* Responsible for banking administration, e.g. signature cards, etc.
Policies & Procedures:
* Ensure that significant organizational financial policies are established, documented, and followed.
* Ensure that internal controls are established and operate in individual areas of responsibility throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
* 7+ years' working experience in accounting.
* Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including experience with not-for-profit accounting. This includes the ability to apply these principles and determine compliance with the principles.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of the use of standard financial accounting software.
* Demonstrated proficiency in preparing clear and concise correspondence and creating spreadsheets.
* Balance the support of the employee and the organization with fairness and consistency. Must possess the ability to work well with all levels of employees.
* Ability to work with confidential information and to remain objective at all times. Strong attention to detail is a must.

Qualifications:

In addition to excelling in animal care, a Senior Keeper must demonstrate the ability to use their experience and knowledge to improve existing care and lead and initiate innovative approaches to animal care.
* Previous primate experience required.
Education:
* Four-year degree in biology, psychology, or related field is preferred; sufficient relevant experience will be considered.
Driving Requirements:
* Must obtain and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license with a safe driving record.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
* Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and have the physical ability to perform strenuous work.

Must have legal billing, legal collections and 3E experience. Under immediate supervision, responsible for all aspects of drafting and finalizing client invoices for all assigned Billing Attorneys. Responsibilities include working with partners, legal administrative assistants and responsible attorneys to manage the revenue cycle. This position handles multiple matters, coordinates the preparation and processing of timely and high quality invoices, assists or leads revenue realization tasks for the billing attorney and can coordinate follow-up to receive outstanding receivables. Additional skills may include production of complex charts, graphs or reports depending on client need. The Billing Coordinator is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing excellent service to clients, attorneys and co-workers, while producing a quality work product. Additionally, the Billing Coordinator will create and promote an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement for the larger Accounting department team.
Prepares and reviews invoices in customized formats as required by client/Billing Attorney.
Based on client and Billing Attorney requirements, performs override calculations and changes.
Assists with identification and reconciliation of payments received.
Pro-actively monitors aging of client's unbilled fees and costs and A/R for assigned Billing Attorneys.
Works with Billing Attorneys to address aged unbilled fees and costs.
Coordinates billing and collection efforts with Billing Attorneys on behalf of the Accounting department.
Supports preparation of and reporting against client budgets.
Uses various department software programs (3E) to maintain and/or prepare information for others.
Prepares various reports through billing system and is able to make modifications as requested.
Confers with clients regarding billing deadlines, billing /rate inquiries and concerns with billing statements.
Gathers monthly, quarterly and annual billing and rate information, prepares reports and statistical data when necessary.
Prepares and ensures billing/payment information is accurate for all write-offs.
Masters client billing guidelines and examines work for accuracy and conformity to client guidelines and firm policies and procedures.
As requested, may provide basic financial data and analysis; may prepare complex charts, graphs or reports.
Is assigned special projects and ad hoc projects and requests from Billing Attorneys and/or supervisor.
Keeps supervisor abreast of current issues and potential problems as they develop; seeks advice as needed.
