As an Instructional Aide, you'll play a vital role in shaping the success of students by providing personalized support, supervision and guidance both in the classroom and within the community. Collaborating closely with classroom educators, you'll help assist with implementing each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), tailoring instruction to their unique learning. Collaborating closely with classroom teachers to cultivate a supportive, welcoming, and high-achieving learning environment where all students feel safe and valued.
Implementing engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions both on-site and in community settings, aligned with each student's unique goals and objectives.
Instructing and closely monitoring students during classroom lessons, ensuring instructional fidelity, and applying targeted strategies to enhance student comprehension and successful course completion.
Encouraging individual student growth by consistently tracking progress against established timelines and proactively communicating with classroom teachers regarding students' successes and areas needing additional intervention.
Managing student behavior effectively, reinforcing our school's philosophy and policies, and applying consistent disciplinary measures in collaboration with classroom teachers.
Supporting and mentoring students facing academic challenges, encouraging personal growth, and assisting them in developing essential community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
Completing clear, accurate, and timely documentation of student behaviors and performance, reporting meaningful observations, and offering actionable recommendations to relevant staff.
Assisting with the preparation of detailed behavioral reports, daily activity logs, and other necessary documentation.
Communicating proactively and clearly with students, colleagues, supervisors, and families regarding student needs, achievements, and areas of concern, working in close partnership with teachers and administration.
Maintaining strict confidentiality of all student records and information at all times.
Participating actively in assurance and accreditation activities, contributing to achieving site performance standards and accreditation requirements.
Participating in school-wide, student-parent, and advisory meetings to foster collaborative support networks and positive educational outcomes.
Responding positively and constructively to formal and informal feedback, demonstrating continuous professional growth.
Performing additional responsibilities as needed to support student success and contribute to the overall effectiveness of our educational community.
‖ Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test.
Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study preferred.
Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a state driver's license.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant or similar credential preferred.
Prior experience working with children, preferably in a special education program setting.
Highly skilled in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors.
Comfortable driving and/or riding in a company van with students before and/or after school.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

About the Opportunity
As a Behavior Specialist at CSD, you'll play a key role in supporting children with autism. Using strategies backed by science (called Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA), you'll help kids build important life skills-like communication, social interaction, and daily routines-in their homes, at our centers, or in community settings.
You'll follow a personalized plan created by our clinical team and bring energy, compassion, and structure to each session. Whether you're playing games, guiding through tasks, or celebrating a small win, your support helps children grow in big ways.

Duties & Responsibilities
Conducts 100% of scheduled sessions, unless time-off has been granted or the parents of the client have communicated to the clinical team that they would not like for the hours to be provided.
Primarily responsible for conducting subbing sessions for other clients to sustain the productivity margin if a session is cancelled by the family. Subbing sessions will fall on Saturdays and within the employee's availability.
Additional hours or sessions may be assigned by the Regional leadership within employee's availability.
Implements individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Intervention Plans in response to the direction provided by the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical Leader and/or other clinical staff in order to improve the behavior and skill acquisition of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Travels to Center, Home, and other community settings to deliver services.
Subbing sessions will primarily take place in the regional centers
Renders completed sessions daily and writes thorough notes
Communicates schedule changes and cancellations to clinical team immediately.
Participates in regular meetings and promptly communicates with Clinical Leaders/Clinical Directors via email and phone, regarding Treatment Plans and Behavioral Intervention Plans, family concerns and questions.
Fulfills the timely completion of necessary clinical documentation and communication of:
Daily Treatment Session Notes
Daily Treatment Target Data
Daily (If applicable) Behavior Data.
Keeps updated with other site-related documents and current clinical reports for each child served.
Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in special education and related fields.

There are multiple required reporting locations within the North Sector of the San Diego Coast District: 1) South Carlsbad State Beach Campground, 2) San Elijo State Beach Campground and 3) San Diego Coast- North Sector Office. The primary duties of the Senior Park Aide (SPA) is to lead lower-level seasonal employees performing routine operation of day use and campground facilities. This position will assist with new employee and volunteer orientations and participate in frequent staff trainings for the new point of sale system. The SPA leads and trains park aides in the entrance station of the campground and collects fees, explains park rules, assists with public information, and operates the point-of-sale system. The SPA is responsible for knowing all revenue generation policies, collecting timesheets for supervisor approval, compiling attendance data in spreadsheets, assisting with scheduling and preparing departmental required reports in an accurate and timely manner. The SPA will be required to operate a state vehicle. The SPA may also assist with pass sales, perform office related tasks, monitor special events and assist with sector operations as needed.
This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment.
