Position Summary:
Under the support and direction of the Lead Teacher, assists in the operations of an assigned classroom to ensure Celebree's mission, vision, and values are upheld and children are provided with a developmentally age-appropriate learning environment.
Qualifications:
This position requires entry-level knowledge and understanding of children's behavioral and developmental stages; beginning knowledge of State licensing regulations; ability to assist in classroom management, including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills; patience and flexibility.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Essential Functions:
Assists in classroom management, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
Provides a welcoming & friendly classroom environment for children, parents & visitors.
Assists in maintaining attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board that is updated regularly.
Assists in creating and implementing thorough, timely lesson plans that are age-appropriate and stimulating by Celebree's curriculum.
Assists in managing effective classroom transitions.
Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children using positive and appropriate discipline techniques as needed.
Ensures the classroom's appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment are appropriately maintained.
Assists in completing all classroom paperwork.
Attends all team meetings, training, and School events as requested; limits unscheduled absences.
Presents a positive and professional image, always adhering to uniform requirements.
Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns promptly, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child's development and classroom happenings.
Identify opportunities and/or problems in the classroom or school and work with the Lead teacher and Director to resolve them.
Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers, and self.
Ability and flexibility in working with various age groups.
Other tasks as assigned by management.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the job's essential functions successfully. You are frequently bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting, and carrying, and you have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Education/Experience: Experience in the childcare industry preferred.
Specific Skills: Certification in CPR and First Aid.
