Sanitary and safe handling of food and equipment Carefully follows directions and serves only food specified on modifies diets, adhering to mealtime schedules, meeting deadlines, and serving food at proper temperatures JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS Wait on tables and set up trays for patient food service following posted menus. Set up dining room and trays with placemats, napkins, silverware, cups, condiments, etc. Serves appropriate food on general and modified diets to residents in dining room and on trays. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of tables in section, hi-boys, kitchen counters and cabinets, garbage bins, coffee carts and work areas. Break down dirty trays from hi-boys. Sweeps floors and cleans chairs in assigned section. Prepares desserts, nourishments and specials. Reports to Food Service Supervisor of any substitutions of meals and meal refusals. Delivers nourishment to floors. Delivers coffee to Administration. Deliver and pick up food carts in patient care areas. Exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with patients, making last minutes diet changes, and satisfying resident's requests Other duties as assigned by supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES & STANDARDS Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity & the ability to work effectively with residents, family members, personnel & support agencies. Is Courteous with residents, co-workers and visitors. Maintains resident & employee confidentiality. Demonstrates ability to work with others. Demonstrates flexibility in assignment to fill facility's needs. Arrives for work on time as scheduled on a consistent basis. Uses time effectively. Adheres to departmental dress codes. Knows and understands policy and procedure on abuse. Acts in professional manner at all times. Knows responsibility & procedure in emergencies. Assumes accountability for all data contained in the Employee Handbook. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations. Must be able to write & speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to see & hear or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, and move intermittently during working hours. Wears safety non slip shoes. Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in English. Responsibilities: Prepare items for decontamination by sorting and selecting the correct process either manual and/or mechanical to assure integrity and prevent damage to instruments and patient care equipment. Prepares instruments for exposure of all surfaces to the decontamination process which includes flushing and opening all lumens, disassembling and opening locks, and proper loading of mechanical washers. Operates all decontamination washers, washer sterilizers, sonic washers and dryers and all other manual methods for cleaning. Assembles sets with the use of count sheets, replaces missing instrumentation and/or identifies missing instrumentation. Wraps, packs and labels all instrument trays and single instrument packs, basins and other items. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Four to ten years of Central Sterile or Sterile Processing. CRCST or certified through national sterile processing program recognized by New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
