Direct Care Staff $15 per hour A Direct Care Staff helps the clinicians with the treatment of Clients who have various behavioral problems, such as substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, mental instability and physical and emotional abuse. A Direct Care Staff is expected to understand individual treatment plans, document client behavior and provide a safe, supportive environment for the clients. Technicians may observe and record client controlled medications and assisting in daily activities. Because clients who are mentally ill and emotionally disturbed can be unpredictable, they can present a potential danger to themselves and those around them. Behavioral health technicians have a responsibility to maintain safety for themselves and their clients they are providing services for. This may be as simple as keeping client files confidential and secure from unauthorized access. In many cases, the technician's ability to emotionally support clients, remain calm and professional, and use good interpersonal skills can defuse a volatile situation. Job duties also include documenting daily in our Electronic Health Records system, learning all policies and procedures of the agency, implementing policies and procedures of the program, and all other additional program related tasks. Qualifications and Competencies:
Interested individuals must be patient, dedicated, reliable, mature and committed team-players with a strong desire to change the lives of individuals living with the disease of addiction and struggling with mental health issues.
Must be teachable and have ability to work under stress, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
At least 6 months experience working with individuals in Recovery is highly desired, or experience working with individuals with other behavioral health issues.
Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, as well as be able to bend, squat and get up and down from off the floor, all with ease.
Bachelor's degree is preferred

All residents are employed as full-time staff therapists within Brooks Rehabilitation while enrolled in the program. The yearlong training consists of three components of learning that include didactic/psychomotor classes, clinical mentoring, and directed learning activities. Clinical mentoring is the backbone of our program, and thus all residents will receive 150 hours of 1:1 mentoring while in the program. Responsible for compiling reports, providing analysis, reconciliation and auditing.
Maintains compliance with therapist licensing, RQI and training.
Maintains patient medical record forms, educational handout distribution material, assists in record keeping of patient files, invoicing, claims billing.
Prepares and cleans treatment area for each patient use. Performs final cleaning at close of department, in preparation for first morning patient. Stocks the linens and removes dirty linens throughout the shift.
Orders, stocks and maintains accurate records of equipment.
Provides inventory control for rehab medical and office supplies.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
