Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility is direct support to students with special needs
Participate in activities planned by the school district staff
Assists in the preparation and development of instructional training activities and materials
Assists school district staff with in-class activities based on specific instructions
Assists school district staff in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom environment by keeping materials and equipment organized
Assists the school district staff in maintaining a good learning atmosphere by using effective teaching and behavior management techniques

Summary
As a Therapist II, you will provide crisis intervention, conduct intake assessments, and deliver individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children and families with a history of mental illness and/or substance use issues. Primary Duties

During non-disaster periods, supplements caseload with individual, group, and crisis counseling with adults and children experiencing moderate to severe depression or anxiety, thoughts of suicide, or suicide bereavement.
Independently performs intake assessments and formulates diagnoses and case conceptualization using a culturally competent approach.
Demonstrates collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team and external systems in coordinating and providing care to clients.
Demonstrates ability to utilize a whole person/integrated care approach in assessment, treatment planning and intervention.

Must be registered with BBS or Board of Psychology.
Expected to have or receive LPS certification (within 1 year of start date) to perform psychiatric holds for clients who are gravely disabled, and/or exhibiting a danger to self or others.
Current knowledge of all job specific skills including crisis intervention and individual/family therapy, multicultural and socio-economic issues, and documentation standards.
Familiarity with relevant Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) is preferred. Willingness to complete agency-supported training in EBPs is required; training costs are fully covered.
Knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, policies and documentation guidelines, and county, state and federal regulations relating to service programs for adults, children, and families with a history of mental illness and/or substance use.
Knowledgeable about and actively supports integrated mental health, physical health and substance use treatment for improving care for the whole person.
Advocacy skills to include a holistic approach to integrated health care and case management
Skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Able to efficiently use the personal computer to include Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record.
