The newly renovated Avante at Ocala Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activities Aide to assist the Activity Director in getting residents to and from activities, holding activities, or any other area of assignment by the Activity Director.
Essential Job Functions:
· Transport residents to and from activities
· Act as the leader for scheduled activities such as exercise, bingo, etc., as assigned by the Activity Director.
· Supervise the special programs for select groups of residents such as Alzheimer's programs on special Alzheimer units.
· Accompany residents on field trips outside the facility.
· Assist with transportation of residents to and from the dining room for meals.
· Assist with feeding the residents as needed.
· Execute all other duties assigned by the Activity Director.
· Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.)
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to read and write English. Bilingual preferred.

Job Description: RESIDENT CARE AIDE
SUMMARY: Performs assigned duties that protect the safety and dignity of residents. A Resident Care
Aide will work together with the Resident Care Supervisor and Assistant Administrator to ensure that
resident care goals are being met, including providing personal care services, assistance, support, and
supervision to all residents.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform position
specific job duties at an acceptable level. Job responsibilities are completed by following established
guidelines and protocols within the appropriate time frame. An individual will also demonstrate good
skills in all forms of communication. The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

Education and/or Experience: The ability to read, write, speak clearly, and follow written and
oral instructions. Must be willing and able to make decisions when responsible for the facility.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully
complete and be current in all training requirements for training under ALF regulations with
AHCA.
Other skills and Abilities: Must be aware of and understand the needs of the elderly. Must be
able to recognize unusual behavior or physical condition of residents and report those
observances to the Resident Care Supervisor or Assistant Administrator. Must be thoroughly
familiar with all policies and procedures of the facility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job position requires moderate physical demands. Duties may include
frequent walking, stooping/kneeling/bending, lifting/carrying, and pushing/pulling during work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including the following but may include other
duties assigned by the supervisor.
• At the beginning of shift, reads all entries in Alis from the prior shift. Report any resident
problems or illness requiring attention to the Resident Care Supervisor or the Wellness
Coordinator.
• Ensures safety of residents through appropriate behavioral interventions.
• Assists residents with daily living activities as required, including dressing, grooming,
bathing, toileting, escorting, and reminding them of appointments.
• Encourages residents to participate in activities.
• Assist with personal laundry for residents as needed.
• Strip and remake bed weekly if not soiled, but if soiled strip and remake as needed; wash
and fold towels and return to residents.
• Assists with activities as assigned by the Activities Coordinator.
• Assist in bringing residents to meals. Always check on residents who have not come to eat.
• Maintain good hygiene and practice proper hand washing technique for infection control.
• Assists with meals including serving meals and bussing tables.
• Assisting with general room cleaning as needed.
• Assists new residents upon admission and orients them to facility, staff, other residents, and
routines.
• Monitors residents' personal needs and informs Resident Care Supervisor or Assistant
Administrator.
• Reports any resident behavioral/physical concerns immediately to the Resident Care
Supervisor.
• Is constantly aware of cleanliness and appearance of Resident Care areas and assists to clean
areas of immediate concern when appropriate.
• Completes Resident Observation Reports in a precise and timely manner, placing a copy of
such in the proper tray.
• Assists to help complete the Resident weight record as required.
• Answer the phones as needed.
• Assists with proper self-administration of medications technique.

Document transport -related activities, intake/output (if applicable), and any notable observations in the EMR.
Communicate effectively with parents during pick -up and drop -off, relaying any information from the nursing team as needed.
Assist with direct care tasks under RN supervision, including:
Changing diapers and cleaning children as needed.
Ensuring children are prepared for transport (clothing, supplies, medical equipment).
Conduct pre -transport and post -transport diaper checks; change diapers if needed before leaving for home.
Support classroom or daycare activities when not engaged in transport duties, as directed by the RN or facility manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the transport van and ensure required supplies are stocked.
Document check -in and check -out activity in Procare software.
Follow all safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and infection -control standards during transport.
Report to the nurse in charge before ending the shift or clocking out.
Follow the daycare's lunch break and shift policies.
RequirementsJob Requirements
Must have at least one (1) year of experience working with infants, toddlers, or children in a care or educational setting.
Must hold a valid CPR certification.
Must work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse at all times.
Must be able to safely drive or ride on the transport van as required.
Must be able to communicate effectively with the nursing team, transport staff, and parents when necessary.
Must be able to assist with vitals, documentation, and basic care tasks as directed by the RN.
Must comply with all facility, safety, and transportation policies, including check -in/out procedures and communication protocols.

Assist residents with medications as ordered by their physician(s).
Documents all functions related to medication management as required by regulation, and by community protocols as defined in the medication training program.
Obtains, receives, and stores medication(s) from pharmacy.
Participates in the medication training program and demonstrates competency per the competency checklist.
Maintains order, cleanliness in medication storage area.
Assist residents with daily bath, dressing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, preparation for activities within the community, reminders of medical appointments, and basic room care.
Provide functions as directed by supervisor including daily and ongoing records including vital signs, weight, and measure residents, and observe and report presence of skin breakdowns; review care plans daily; report changes in resident conditions to supervisor; and record all necessary charting entries and report all accidents and incidents.
Prepare residents for meals and snacks and perform after-meal resident care.
Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; know and comply with Residents' Rights rules; and promptly report all resident complaints, accidents, and incidents to supervisor.
Assist as directed in proper admission, transfer and discharge of residents, inventory resident possessions and report defective equipment to administration.
Understand and use Universal Precautions and follow established infections control, hazardous communication, and other safety rules; ensure cleanliness of assigned residents' rooms; properly maintain and record resident restraints; and promptly report all violations of safety and sanitation rules to supervisor.
Attend and participate in orientation, training, educational activities, and staff meeting.
Any other tasks, assignments, projects, or requests as deemed by management.
