FSDB is a state public school available at no cost to eligible pre-K and K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired or deafblind, including boarding and transportation services. FSDB is nationally recognized for its comprehensive educational services, designed for the unique communication and accessibility needs of students. FSDB also provides educational outreach programs for children ages 0-5 and their families. The FSDB experience provides students with the edge to do more, be more, and achieve more.
How you will make an impact
The incumbent of this position serves as a Boarding Instructor within FSDB's Boarding Program.
* Demonstrates knowledge of the importance of staff: student ratios at all times which includes, but is not limited to, being present at work and punctual, following procedures for attendance, completing daily reports (i.e. Daily Chronicles, Night Reports, Incident Reports, Attendance Reports, etc.), meets all established deadlines, and remains in assigned area; Supervises and monitors student behavior and documents positive and negative behaviors; Promotes student development and self-esteem by providing assistance and supervision during student activities; Utilizes the Individual Dorm Plan to build social and daily living skills, providing input during completion of the Functional Assessments, and contributing to a positive dorm environment.
* Effectively communicates with students in a developmentally appropriate manner and recognizes the individual communication needs of the students; Effectively, consistently, accurately, and professionally communicates with parents, in accordance with the Boarding Program Policy.
* Demonstrates flexibility with scheduling which includes accepting changes in the work assignment, implementing appropriate recommendations regarding students, and adjusting expectations, interactions and behavior management styles based on the individual needs and abilities of the students.
* Complies with all school, department, and individual dorm policies and procedures which includes, but is not limited to: Boarding Guidelines, Staff/Student/Parent Handbook, Standards for Disciplinary Action, School Policies and Procedures, Management Memorandum (Student Abuse, Self-Harm, Health Care Center, Staff/Student Relations, and Missing Students), Emergency Preparedness, Critical Incidents Reference Guide, Food Service Policies, and accurate completion of all FSDB required training. Maintains a safe and clean environment.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or its equivalent; or Completion of a program of study in child care from a vocational/technical school; or one year of experience in working with disabled persons. Proof of High School Diploma or Completion of Child Care course will need to be provided at time of interview.
Preferred
Two or more years of professional full-time work experience.
Sign Language Requirements
Applicants who are selected for hire for the overnight shift in the Deaf Apartment Program Dorms/Deaf Residential Dorms will be required to attain an Intermediate proficiency in sign language within one year of hire.
Please note: The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind provides education to acquire sign language skills.
Hiring Salary Range 10 month position: $29,874.00 - $37,374.00 annually. This range is inclusive of verified experience and education. Position is eligible for a shift differential due to the majority of shift being between 5:00pm - 6:00am. $60.00 per biweekly period; $1560.00 annually. Pay additive is dependent on agency funding.

Actively participate in ongoing Collaborative Care meetings in the place of the house parents when on duty in a specific house.
Plan at least 3 hours a day outdoors (weather permitting) on weekends and Holidays.
Ensure any work/chores assigned to children on the farm are carried out appropriately.
Ensure that recreational or work activities do not conflict with school times, visits with family or any other ranch wide or house specific planned activities.
Make an effort to ensure each child has adequate daily time for privacy and individual pursuits.
Intellectual Development EducationProvides structured time each day for school work and ensures that the children have necessary study materials.
Is available during study time to give as much personal assistance and coaching as possible in the preparation of school assignments.
Works closely with teachers and tutors when needed.
Encourages and supports children who are involved in extracurricular activities.
Discipline (see Seamark Discipline Policy) Uses discipline to help the child learn self-control, rather than forcing him/her to conform to adult standards.
Discipline is training that makes punishment unnecessary.
In planning discipline, the childs age, intelligence, emotional makeup and his/her past experience should be considered.
Discipline must be fair, consistent, and involved natural consequences.
Every effort should be made to help the child see it as such.
Standards of discipline for the house or relief parents own children should be similar to those expected of the resident children, although the means of carrying out that discipline may be different.
Group pressures and group values can have a constructive place in the training of children.
However, discipline requires more maturity and understanding than can be expected of a group of children alone, and no child or group of children should be allowed to discipline another child.
Serious offenses, such as drug use, sexual acting out, criminal offenses or running away, should be reported to the Senior Leadership Team immediately and followed up with a written Incident Report within 24 hours.
No disciplinary action should be taken which will demean the child or damage his self-esteem.
Corporal punishment is not an option for any child.
As a general rule, discipline should be administered only to your assigned children.
Refer other infractions to the appropriate house parents unless it is a life or death situation.
Physical Development of the ChildWorks with and supervises the children in completing household chores and helps them develop good housekeeping habits.
Assigns children to household tasks that are appropriate to age and abilities.
Teaches the children how to use the proper tools to take care of any part of the Ranch assigned to the home.
FoodPlans, prepares and serves 3 nutritionally balanced meals per day using fruits and vegetables, food storage items, donated items, and purchased menu supplements.
Helps the children develop the capability for meal planning, budgeting, and preparation (within their ability to understand).
Models and practices good table manners and encourages an atmosphere of serving one another during meals.
Wait for one another and eat as a family Provides healthy snacks and non-sugary drinks in between meals.
ClothingSupervises all laundering of clothes according to schedule and need.
Helps children to learn how to care for clothing and the difference in play, work, school, and church clothes and shoes.

Scheduled Work Hours House parenting is an around-the-clock role.
Relief parents will work as scheduled usually in a 4-day, 3-night relief weekend (Thursday Sunday).
Relief will also provide care for date nights and house parent vacations at various times.
When extended times of relief is needed such as covering vacation or illness, comparable time off will be given.
Relief parents may also be called upon for specific duties when not providing child care or to help with driving kids or running errands.
Changeover should happen at mutually agreed upon times that serve the needs of the children in care.
Home Maintenance ExpectationsMaintains the home and furnishings in good order.
Reports any damage.
Takes good care of the home vans and informs the Ranch Manager of needed repairs.
Advises the Ranch Manager promptly when repairs to the home or furnishings are needed.
Accomplishes Ranch chores as assigned by the house parents and in a way that teaches the children good work ethic.

What You Need
High school diploma or GED
Minimum age for this position is 21 years old
Minimum of one year experience working with children/families, either in work or volunteer capacity
Clean driving record

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race” - the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
Daytona International Speedway is seeking event employees with cable-based TV experience and IPTV network infrastructure repair skills who will interact with our guests and participants during racing events and onsite special events.
JOB SUMMARY
Inspect, install, repair, and support cable TV and IPTV infrastructure and provide guest support for Daytona Intl. Speedway-related events. This includes large spectator events and track rental support throughoutneeded the year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work closely with the DIS Operations, Venue Technology Manager, and Special Event teams on upcoming events.
Support cable TV and IPTV infrastructure in fan areas to include the Fan Zone, D500 Club, Garage, Venue Suite, and Grandstand areas.
Install and repair indoor and outdoor RF and Network based TV infrastructure.
Be able to help add and replace indoor and outdoor TVs across the property.
Be available to support Cable TV and IPTV issues during all major events at DIS.
Assist the Event Operations team as need to support events.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
OTHER DUTIES
Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed.
Provide back up support for PA and AV Departments as needed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Basic office systems including but not limited to computer system & programs, cellular phone.
Proficient with all types of hand and power tools.
Able to work safely using different types of lifts.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Hours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities.

Professional: Minimum of one-year related experience. Projects a professional company image though verbal and written communication. Presents self in a professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization internal and external.
Interpersonal Skills: Listens to others, ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively, responds to manager's instructions and accepts feedback.
Personal: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendor, other sports professional, community members) customers, communicate effectively and professionally at all times, comfort and experience with public speaking, exercise excellent managerial judgment, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, problem solve and be a team worker. Dependable transportation to and from work is required.

What You Need
* Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field of study and two plus years experience in social work or related field preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role.
* State of Florida Child Welfare certification, required.
* Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience in child welfare.
* Must have interviewing and assessment skills in order to adequately assess the qualifications of potential professional foster parents.

* Visits Foster Homes, assesses the safety of the children in care, and completes Home Visit Reports.
* Documents contacts with foster parents in FSFN system.
* Completes initial and re-licensing home studies.
* Provides training to Foster Parents in home/office or at meetings.
* Conducts Foster Parent evaluations/relicensures.
* Assists in coordinating services/events for children & foster parents.
* Provides supportive services to foster parents and children, as assigned.
* Assures that Foster Parents are fully trained in the approved Pre-Service Curriculum.
* Facilitate pre-service training to prospective foster parents, as required per region.
* Assures that all Foster Homes are meet standardized safety & licensing requirements.
* Assists in coordinating services to children & foster families.
* Completes monthly reports on children in care.
* Assists in placement decisions.
* Assist placement On-call after hours on a rotating schedule.
* Attends recruitment orientations and presentations.
* Facilitate recruitment presentations within faith based communities and churches.
* Perform all other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
