The Direct Service Professional (DSP) Supportive Living Services (SLS) provides in-home and community-based support to adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on teaching independent living skills and promoting client safety, well-being, and inclusion. The role involves hands-on coaching, flexibility in scheduling, and consistent communication with the care team to support client goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support clients in developing daily living skills (e.g., cooking, hygiene, household tasks).
Assist with goal-oriented coaching in social and domestic skills per the individualized service plan (ISP).
Provide transportation for clients to appointments, shopping, and community events.
Ensure client health and safety through behavioral redirection, crisis prevention, and environmental awareness.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes.
Promote client integration into the community through skill-building and engagement.
Communicate promptly with supervisors, care teams, and designated family members.
Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and submit documentation (e.g., timecards, mileage) as required.
Follow physician-directed medical plans and behavioral program outlines.
Monitor and report incidents or safety concerns promptly.
Adhere to company policies, program procedures, and Title 17 regulations.
Represent Family Options professionally in all interactions with clients, families, and agencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years of age (21 if position includes driving responsibilities).
Minimum 12 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and registration required, and have clear MVR,.
Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and obtain fingerprint clearance.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); ability to use standard office technology.
Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Support staff at Valley Life Charter School must be flexible in their duties: These are some responsibilities of the support staff. Duties will vary depending on what grade level you are assigned to.
Instructional Assistants in the classroom, library, computer lab, playground, etc.
Assist teachers as needed
Classroom setup:
Arranging chairs and other classroom furniture
Readying classroom supplies, i.e., cutting, laminating, copying
Setting up a classroom for special activities, including:
Circle/Calendar time
Snack time
Preparing supplies for art activities (i.e., paint, glue, paper, etc.)
Decorating bulletin boards
Changing children's artwork
Decorating rooms according to season or upcoming holiday
Organizing classroom supplies
Assist with the arrival and departure of children by:
Monitoring and directing student traffic in the hallways and multipurpose room
Escorting children into proper classrooms
Helping children remove and hang up coats, backpacks, etc.
Identifying students who are out of compliance with the dress code and reporting to the proper staff
Directing tardy students to the office to obtain a pass
Maintain positive communication with students

JOB SUMMARY
The Home Health Aide (HHA) is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient's needs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the home health aide include, but are not limited to, the following:
Providing personal care including: Baths, Back rubs, Oral hygiene, Shampoos, Changing bed linen, Assisting patients with dressing and undressing, Nail & Skin care to prevent breakdown, Assisting the patient with toileting activities, Keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as appropriate.
Planning and preparing nutritious meals.

Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.
Assisting patient in the self-administration of medication.
Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).
Reporting on patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse.
Qualifications
Active CA Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) license through the Department of Public Health.
A minimum of one year of patient care experience; preferable in the Home Health setting.
Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Organization requirements and is in good working order.
