Monday thru Friday (6:00 AM -2:00 pm) Supervisors only Monday thru Friday (2:00 PM -10:00 pm) Overnight (10PM - 6AM) Weekend Blocks General Description of Duties and Responsibilities: Residential Advisors are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment which fosters growth and rehabilitation and facilitates the development of mutual aid/self help skills among individuals. Staffs primary role is to provide the appropriate and effective behavioral supports tailored to the needs and desires of each individual to enable each to live as independently as possible. Residential Advisors are expected to recognize when an individual is in a crisis and be able to utilize the appropriate comprehensive crisis management training, psychiatric, medical back up services and/or the crisis team involved with the individual. The Residential Advisors play a critical role in the overall success of our Residential Services and are looked at as natural role models. Specific Duties: Assist/monitor/teach individuals with preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene, and behavior appropriate in their home or apartment. Assist the Residential supervisor in the assessment of each individuals(s) ability, interests and need areas toward independent living. Provide input in the development of each ISP. The staffs behavior and interaction with individuals shall be directed towards the attainment of goals set forth within each ISP. Assist/monitor/teach individuals(s) in budgeting skills. Teach self medication skills according to ODP regulations, and when appropriate supervise in medication administration. Assist/monitor/teach individuals engaging in daily chores. Assist/monitor/teach individuals as needed in grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation and clean up. Meet with individuals (as needed) on an individual basis to discuss concerns, problems. Assist/monitor/teach individuals in holding house meetings and informal discussion groups with peers. Handle emergency situations appropriately, (according to AIMED and ODP policies). Utilize crisis interventions when necessary. Teach and/or support individuals in utilizing public transportation. Transport individuals to appropriate appointments when necessary (i.e. person requires assistance at appointment). Perform daily record keeping (i.e. data collection, daily logs). Exchange information with next shift and/or with support staff. Teach and be supportive of basic nutrition. Assist individuals to utilize community resources from nutritional counseling. Teach relationship building skills. Teach community integration; assist individuals in joining community organizations of their choice. Teach problem solving skills/resolving conflicts. Provide leisure/recreational activities of individual(s) choice, increase individuals self initiative in leisure activities. Teach/monitor individuals self management skills (in health and behavior management). Teach individuals basic first aid, fire safety, emergency skills and sex education, and/or assist individual in locating a class (community resource) in the above stated items. Provide opportunities for individuals to have choices, make decisions in daily living and their future goals (i.e. assist individual in day to day decisions). Assist in creating natural supports for individuals. Assist individuals in building their self esteem. .Encourage empowerment. Follow individual treatment plans consistently. Conduct and document monthly fire drills according to ODP procedures. Report any consumer (individual) abuse (physical, emotional, sexual) or act of omission to the Allegheny County adult Abuse line. Be available to meet with repair person(s) and inspectors. Utilize on call and crisis team when necessary. Attend mandatory trainings and site team meetings. Implement OSHA regulations. Lifting, snow shoveling and climbing stairs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: The minimum professional qualifications for Residential Advisors are a High School Diploma and one year of Human Service work experience. Training provided to those with less experience. Medication administration certification. Must be 21 years old or older. Autonomy ability to work without immediate supervision. Interpersonal sensitivity (objective awareness of others, tactful interaction, ease in establishing limits). Reliability and flexibility. Insight and the ability to articulate it. Valid drivers license and the ability to drive a van. Crisis intervention training (i.e. non violent crisis intervention, positive approach, etc) CPR, First Aid and AED. Must clear ACT 33, 34 and 73 (criminal clearance). Job Description - Residential Services, Direct Care Service Title: Program Manager Responsible to: Regional Director General Description of Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Manager is a professional position whose duties include management oversight and leadership to Residential Supervisors and CPS or AIMED to Independence. The Program Manager will build a team atmosphere and role model AIMED's Core Values. The Program Manager will maintain organized files, implement policies and procedures, attend leadership meetings and interagency meetings, and must be knowledgeable about preparing for state licensing. The Program Manager will carry out AIMED's services as required and meet the 6400 and 3800 regulation expectations. Specific Duties: Responsible for new admission of the CPS services. Complete all necessary paperwork Responsible for obtaining ISP critical revision by the SC for CPS services. Work with the CPS manager on scheduling staff for CPS services. Provide supervision, leadership, guidance and assistance to the Residential Supervisors, DSP and Supported Living staff. Assist with newly hired supervisors site training. Approve timecards for CPS staff. Ensure sites are in compliance, staff follow policies/protocols and 6400 and 3800 regulations. Ensure the agency's fleet is on a 6-month maintenance schedule. Manage sites grocery cards and petty cash distribution. Serve as a back-up to the LPN in distributing delivered medication to Residential Supervisors. Manage fire drills and review monthly records. Assist with the review of the monthly purged paperwork from sites. Conduct site spot checks on various shifts to ensure each shift is meeting the quality expectations of the program. Enforce Therap compliance by Residential Supervisors and DSP. Work with Program Administrator and act as back-up when needed. Participate in the development of the ISP, annual update and ISP revision. Attend the ISP meetings when necessary. Coordinate the NADSP certification training of Residential Supervisors, DSP, CPS and Supported Living staff, when necessary. Work with the training department to ensure all staff are in compliance with annual training. In conjunction with Residential Supervisors, Program Administrator, provides oversight of residential scheduling and casual pool of staff. Be available for emergency coverage. On-call and flexible schedule when necessary. Respond to emergencies within a reasonable time frame. HCSIS and Incident Management reporting. Ensure staff enter all incidents into Therap (GER). Ensure Residential Supervisor and DSP new hire shadow training is completed and submitted to the training department. Review maintenance requests submitted by Residential Supervisors. Make recommendations and assist with necessary changes in the development and delivery of new and/or existing policies, procedures, services and programs to optimize quality assurance and reduce deficits and maintain integrity of programs, licensure and contracts. Regularly review behavior practices and review treatment records and quality indicators, assuring expected standards of care and quality of services are provided in accordance to state, county agencies and AIMED policy and procedure. Ensure Residential Supervisors and sites are adequately prepared for annual licensing and monitoring visits. Manage and oversee new site development in conjunction with the Chief Program Officer and Operations Manager. Adheres to the policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPPA. Responsible for the agency staff back-up plan as outlined in our policy and the ISP. Certified Investigator or become certified. Complete all required reports, forms and documentation accurately and timely. Effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective team building skills and role model AIMED Core Values.
