General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Residential Advisor Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment which fosters growth and rehabilitation and facilitates the development of mutual aid/self help skills among individuals. Primary role is to provide professional leadership skills to each Residential Advisor, role model AIMEDs mission and core values. Maintain organized files, policies and procedures. Residential Advisor Supervisor is expected to recognize when an individual is in a crisis and be able to utilize the appropriate psychiatric and medical back up services.
Specific Duties:
Supervision of residential direct care staff.
Responsible for scheduling and assuring that all shifts are covered.
Responsible for program site management & supervision including upkeep of the home.
Responsible to insure that ODP regulations, agency policies, residential and fiscal regulations are followed within the residential department.
Prepare site for inspection and/or monitoring by County and/or State officials.
Preparation of required or requested reports, forms, or correspondence. Directs the preparation and maintenance of such reports as are necessary to carry out functions of the department.
Assist/monitor/teach individuals with preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene, and behavior appropriate in their home or apartment.
Assist in the development of each ISP. Staff behavior and interaction with individuals shall be directed towards the attainment of goals set forth within each ISP.
Teach self medication skills according to ODP regulations, and when appropriate supervise in medication administration.
Assist/monitor/teach individuals engaging in daily chores.
Assist/monitor/teach individuals as needed in grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation and clean up.
Meet with individuals (as needed) on an individual basis to discuss concerns,
Assist/monitor/teach individuals in holding house meetings and informal discussion groups with peers.
Handle emergency situations appropriately, (according to AIMED and ODP policies). Utilize crisis interventions when necessary.
Perform daily record keeping (i.e. data collection, daily logs).
Teach and be supportive of basic nutrition. Assist individuals to utilize community resources from nutritional counseling.
Teach relationship building skills.
Teach community integration; assist individuals in joining community organizations of their choice.
Teach problem solving skills/resolving conflicts.
Provide leisure/recreational activities of individual(s) choice, increase individuals self initiative in leisure activities.
Teach/monitor individuals self management skills (in health and behavior management).
Teach individuals basic first aid, fire safety, emergency skills and sex education, and/or assist individual in locating a class (community resource) in the above stated items.
Provide opportunities for individuals to have choices, make decisions in daily living and their future goals (i.e. assist individual in day to day decisions).
Assist in creating natural supports for individuals.
Assist individuals in building their self esteem.
Follow individual support plan consistently.
Conduct and document monthly fire drills according to ODP procedures.
Report any consumer (individual) abuse (physical, emotional, sexual) or act of omission to the Allegheny County adult Abuse line.
Attend individual and inter-agency staff meetings related to individuals.
Attend required training and complete mandatory ODP annual training.
Implement OSHA regulations.
Lifting, snow shoveling and climbing stairs.
Available on call 24 hours a day.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The minimum professional qualifications for Residential Advisors are a Associates Degree and/or one year of supervisory experience in Human Service work or High School diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Must be 21 years old or older.
Autonomy ability to work without immediate supervision.
Interpersonal sensitivity (objective awareness of others, tactful interaction, ease in establishing limits).
Reliability and flexibility
Insight and the ability to articulate it.
Strong background in working with Autism behavioral
Valid drivers license and the ability to drive a van (Employees Only).
Medication Administration Certification.
Crisis intervention training (i.e. non violent crisis intervention, positive approach, etc)
CPR, First Aid.
Must clear ACT 33, 34 and 73 (criminal clearance).

General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

Staffs primary role is to provide the appropriate and effective behavioral supports tailored to the needs and desires of each individual to enable each to live as independently as possible. Residential Advisors are expected to recognize when an individual is in a crisis and be able to utilize the appropriate comprehensive crisis management training, psychiatric, medical back up services and/or the crisis team involved with the individual. The Residential Advisors play a critical role in the overall success of our Residential Services and are looked at as natural role models.
Specific Duties:

Job Description - Residential Services, Direct Care Service
Title: Program Manager
Responsible to: Chief Programs Officer
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Manager is a professional position whose duties include management oversight and leadership to Residential Supervisors and CPS or AIMED to Independence. The Program Manager will build a team atmosphere and role model AIMED's Core Values. The Program Manager will maintain organized files, implement policies and procedures, attend leadership meetings and interagency meetings, and must be knowledgeable about preparing for state licensing. The Program Manager will carry out AIMED's services as required and meet the 6400 and 3800 regulation expectations.
Specific Duties:
Responsible for new admission of the CPS services. Complete all necessary paperwork
Responsible for obtaining ISP critical revision by the SC for CPS services.
Work with the CPS manager on scheduling staff for CPS services.
Provide supervision, leadership, guidance and assistance to the Residential Supervisors, DSP and Supported Living staff.
Assist with newly hired supervisors site training.
Approve timecards for CPS staff.
Ensure sites are in compliance, staff follow policies/protocols and 6400 and 3800 regulations.
Ensure the agency's fleet is on a 6-month maintenance schedule.
Manage sites grocery cards and petty cash distribution.
Serve as a back-up to the LPN in distributing delivered medication to Residential Supervisors.
Manage fire drills and review monthly records.
Assist with the review of the monthly purged paperwork from sites.
Conduct site spot checks on various shifts to ensure each shift is meeting the quality expectations of the program.
Enforce Therap compliance by Residential Supervisors and DSP.
Work with Program Administrator and act as back-up when needed.
Participate in the development of the ISP, annual update and ISP revision. Attend the ISP meetings when necessary.
Coordinate the NADSP certification training of Residential Supervisors, DSP, CPS and Supported Living staff, when necessary.
Work with the training department to ensure all staff are in compliance with annual training.
In conjunction with Residential Supervisors, Program Administrator, provides oversight of residential scheduling and casual pool of staff. Be available for emergency coverage.
On-call and flexible schedule when necessary. Respond to emergencies within a reasonable time frame.
HCSIS and Incident Management reporting.
Ensure staff enter all incidents into Therap (GER).
Ensure Residential Supervisor and DSP new hire shadow training is completed and submitted to the training department.
Review maintenance requests submitted by Residential Supervisors.
Participate in weekly clinical meetings.
Schedule applicable meetings, attend all assigned meetings and complete agenda.
Make recommendations and assist with necessary changes in the development and delivery of new and/or existing policies, procedures, services and programs to optimize quality assurance and reduce deficits and maintain integrity of programs, licensure and contracts.
Regularly review behavior practices and review treatment records and quality indicators, assuring expected standards of care and quality of services are provided in accordance to state, county agencies and AIMED policy and procedure.
Ensure Residential Supervisors and sites are adequately prepared for annual licensing and monitoring visits.
Manage and oversee new site development in conjunction with the Chief Program Officer and Operations Manager.
Adheres to the policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPPA.
Responsible for the agency staff back-up plan as outlined in our policy and the ISP.
Certified Investigator or become certified.
Complete all required reports, forms and documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with persons with IDD/A. An associate degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 3 years work experience working directly with persons with IDD/A. Working towards a degree and at least 4 years of experience working with IDD/A population.

Job Description Residential Services, Direct Care Service
Title: Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
Responsible to: Chief ProgramOfficer
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides clients with nursing services in accordance with their needs. Participates, as appropriate, in the development, review, and update of individual program plans (ISPs); the development, with a physician, of a medical care plan when and if required by a physician; assists in the review of clients' health status; refers to a physician to address client health problems as necessary; renders other nursing care as prescribed by a physician or as identified by client needs, within scope of practice; and implements, with other direct care staff, appropriate protective and preventive health measures. Participates in the training/orientation of new nursing staff.
Specific Duties:
Provide routine nursing care.
Administer medications and/or train staff as prescribed by a physician by: ensuring correct dosage is given and accurately charted and maintaining an accurate count to ensure security.
Schedule quarterly, annual and follow-up medical appointments based on OPD regulation.
Participate, as appropriate, in the development of the nursing aspects of ISP for assigned clients by providing information on physical and mental health as observed through nursing new admission or existing participant assessment. Implement nursing aspects of the ISP.
Provide the CEO or designated person with a monthly report on individuals seen care plan (needs, updates and/or changes).
Train participants and staff as needed in appropriate health and hygiene methods. Provide remediation training as needed.
Conduct HRST nursing assessments. As needed, taking vital signs and observing behavior as needed.
Participate in admission and discharge decision-making based on medical information.
Review hospital discharge summary and provide staff training and/or information when necessary.
Maintain accurate medical records by documenting nursing care provided in Therap medical health records.
Document medical concerns in Therap medical health records and monthly reports.
Notify physician and/or Regional Program Director of medical concerns.
Assist in the control of communicable disease and infections, including the instruction of other personnel in methods of infection control.
Assist in the training of direct care staff in detecting signs and symptoms of illness or dysfunction, first aid for accidents or illness, and basic skills required to meet the health needs of clients.
Develop internal medical protocols in collaboration with PCP and/or other medical professions to ensure best care and support.
Ensure that the nursing plan of care for active treatment is carried out.
Ensure that client's rights are observed at all times.
Participate in training/orientation of new nursing staff.
Comply with and enforce facility safety procedures.
Comply with and enforce all facility administrative policies.
Completes medication records i.e., Medication Account Records, Physician Order Sheets, Nursing Tracking Forms etc. as per established schedule.
Works with and coordinates care with pharmacy, physicians, and other health care providers.

Provides 1:1 nursing supervision when needed.

Monitors employee medication errors and takes necessary action if assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an approved school of practical nursing and three years of experience as an RN/LPN in an acute care, long-term care, or MH/MR facility, to include at least two years of experience as an RN/LPN.
Must be a Licensed RN/LPN.
General knowledge in the theory and practice of practical nursing as applied to the Intellectual development disabled (IDD) and MH.
Working knowledge of basic medical nursing procedures. A basic understanding of the development and implementation of treatment plans for the care of IDD/MH clients.
Skill in writing sufficient to prepare and maintain accurate medical records.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and clients. Ability to follow physicians' directions. Skill in communicating with persons from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to perform assigned duties under limited supervision, following-up as required. In addition, the incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required at the RN/LPN level.
Ability to direct the work of lower-level staff.
Current license to practice as a practical nurse RN/LPN in PA.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
Physically able to perform required duties; ability to lift and carry 70 lbs., and ability to successfully pass lifting screening and training.
Must complete direct care training; and must complete orientation and all other required training satisfactorily in order to continue employment.
RN/LPN must complete the recommended training program as required.
Experience in working with the Intellectually Developmentally Disabled preferred.
