Job Purpose: The A&P Mechanic diagnoses, adjusts, repairs and/or overhauls aircraft and related systems.

Responsibilities:

* Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems
* Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations
* Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation
* Read and interpret maintenance manuals and FAA/manufacturer publications and directives to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
* Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance
* Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications
* Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment
* Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of problems to diagnose causes
* Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand or power tools
* Inventory and ordering supplies, parts, materials, and equipment
* Check for corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail
* Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

* Must hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant license
* Ability to perform maintenance duties utilizing basic hand tools
* Ability to use and effectively navigate ERP program, time clock, and company intranet
* Proven technical/mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, especially their design, uses, repair and maintenance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Previous experience performing routine maintenance on aviation equipment, preferred King Air or Dash 8 specific experience
* Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and use manuals to determine effective solution
* Manage time to effectively meet company priorities

Related Experience/Education:

* High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree through a technical/vocational school is preferred
* Previous experience performing routine maintenance on mechanical equipment; experience with aviation equipment including King Air or Dash 8 preferred

Air Methods air-conditioning mechanic job description

Responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of Company operated aircraft and articles as assigned in accordance with Air Methods' policies and procedures. Ensures company operational goals and objectives are met, while guaranteeing all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

• Performs inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
• Upon installation or removal of any component or assembly, the Mechanic shall verify by physical inspection or markings on the part that the part number and serial number match the associated documentation
• Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals to include specific chapters
• Actively participates in the continuous improvement phase (level 4) of the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures
• Maintains work area in a clean and professional manner
Responsible for correcting compliance or safety issues when directed by the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, Chief Pilot, Regional Maintenance Director, Director of Safety, or Lead Mechanic
• Responsible for advising the Pilot in Command (PIC) of any maintenance issues that would take an aircraft out of service
• Responsible for validating or confirming the data in the Status Report concerning the aircraft he or she is working on including
• Request aviation parts and supplies in order to maintain an adequate and orderly inventory of all stock items to ensure prompt repairs for operational readiness
• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand various documents such as 337's, Service Bulletins, AD's, etc.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

Collins Aerospace is looking for an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic (HVAC) to support our Chula Vista CA facility.

*This position is based on-site at our Chula Vista, CA facility and will be part of the IAM Local 755
Primary Responsibilities

+ Determine routing, location and method of installing wires, conduits, electrical equipment, fixtures and accessories, working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, etc., and following state, municipal and underwriter's specifications, codes and ordinances.

+ Determine advisability, need for repair or replacement and best and safest method of restoring interrupted service.

+ Compute wire gage, power and load limit requirements when required.

+ Perform operations such as installing and maintaining electrical systems, motors, generators, transformers, switch panels, etc.

+ Mechanical operations on electrical units: dismantling, disassembly, repair and installation.

+ Repair and installation work such as splicing, tapping and insulating wires and cables.

+ Use precision measuring devices and instruments to check and test circuits for overload, current amplitude and timing and trouble shoots on hot circuits.

+ Set and climb poles in order to install wires and fittings as needed

+ Uses the necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform the work described herein.

+ Maintains good shop practice.

+ Perform other duties as needed

Basic Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
