Performs layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, modification, repair, and testing of components, materials and equipment. Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment to join metal parts. Reporting to a Preventative Maintenance Supervisor, incumbent will perform tasks in the building trades (carpentry, masonry and painting) in support of building maintenance as part of a regional Rounding Team on the Virginia Tech campus. Incumbent will work closely with Preventative Maintenance Technicians, Plumbers, and Electricians assisting with plumbing and electrical tasks as required.
