    BACK SHOP LEAD A&P MECHANIC Supervises technicians in a manner which ensures all shop assigned activity is completed with the highest standard of workmanship and in a timely manner. Ensures all work is accomplished in accordance with FAA approved data. Manages allocated resources in an efficient manner and to the satisfaction of the company. Responsible for maintaining employee welfare and promoting safety. RESPONSIBILITIES Directly responsible for the overall operation of the back shop and related activity. Schedules manpower and coordinates with the supply chain, maintenance planning and other company Lead Technicians. Review and approve employee timecards as required. Enforces company policy and performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager or VP/DOM. Control the flow and accuracy of all paperwork and records that are in the work process. Progressively perform documented training of personnel under supervision. Ensure equipment and tooling is maintained in a serviceable condition. Maintain the workspace and facility in a clean and orderly manner. Identify and report all possible safety risks in maintenance operations. Notify the General Manager or VP/DOM of problems encountered while performing duties. Conduct shop meetings and briefings as required. Participate in supervisor/management meetings. Notify Quality Control of any Service Difficulty Report Notifications required on maintenance completed in the shop. Must be willing to accept additional incoming work from outside vendors and research requirements to expand capabilities list including manuals, tooling and test equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current FAA Airframes mechanic certificate and had this rating for at least three (3) years or; One (1) year of supervisory experience and demonstrate required leadership skills. Have good English written and verbal communication skills. Be familiar with Mountain Air Cargo manual system and policies and procedures contained therein. Hold a valid drivers license TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: General Safety Quality System Awareness Must successfully pass the basic electrical and electronic class administered by MAC Supervisory skills training as directed by MAC WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work performed in a shop environment on a regular basis. Occasional travel to line stations. Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. Heavy physical effort required on occasion. Responsible for the effective use of available manpower to accomplish task assignments requested by Hangar/Line Manager or MAC Maintenance Control to the highest level of reliability and safety in accordance with all applicable MAC, manufacturer and FAA policies, procedures, manuals and regulations.
