We're hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet within Guardian Flight. This technician will be qualified to support our King Air B200, B300 and Lear 45 airframe. This is a key role to ensure our team can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities
Aircraft Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and provide regular statuses to the Lead Technician.
Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures.
Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company's information security standards.
Take pride in sustaining a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team.

🛩️The University of Alaska (UAA) Aviation Technology Division invites applications for an aviation maintenance position for the Aviation Technology Flight School. As a mechanic in the Aviation Technology Division you will be responsible for performing the duties of an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization conducting required maintenance & preventative maintenance of UAA Flight Training Aircraft including 50-hour inspections, 100-hour inspections, annual, and phase inspections. This position is responsible for debriefing pilots concerning any aircraft malfunction. Running and taxiing aircraft under power, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft. Additionally, you will perform the full range of repair and testing of aircraft systems, assemblies and surfaces, determining if aircraft components require repair, replacement or re-calibration, and requesting parts and conducting repairs as required.
🛩️As an A&P with IA in the Aviation Technology Division you will exercise Inspection Authority privileges to return aircraft to service, provide technical assistance to other UAA aviation maintenance technicians, perform inspections on UAA aircraft for continued airworthiness using methods, techniques, and practices that adhere to the Title 14 Code of Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs) and UAA's Flight Operations Maintenance Policy. You will be responsible for aircraft maintenance record entries and maintenance records to ensure aircraft are in a condition for safe operation, as required by Title 14 CFRs. Evaluate and report on vendor or contract maintenance activities to the Director of Aircraft Maintenance (DOM). Maintain professional currency regarding Title 14 CFR updates and changes, maintenance procedures and techniques, airworthiness directives (ADs), advisory publications, aircraft manufacturer's publications and industry developments. This is an evening position. The required hours are 11am - 4pm, with flexibility on start and end times around those hours. There is also flexibility in the days worked per week (to equal 40 hours total per week).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mechanic I
Perform general preventative maintenance. This includes fluid changes, greasing equipment and minor component changes. Shop cleanliness and safe work practices are essential. This is an entry level position and on-the-job training will be provided. However, formal education is encouraged. Mechanics will need to learn a basic skill in our M&R software. Must be certified on a 4T forklift.
Mechanic II
All the responsibilities of a Mechanic I. Ability to perform FHWA inspections. The ability to assist with more major component swaps like hydraulic pump, engines and transmissions. Basic welding skills. Electrical, hydraulic, engine, A/C and emissions system diagnostics and repairs diagnostic skills required. Must have at least a Class A CDL permit. This position requires at least 1-year Mechanical experience. Must be willing to travel when needed. 52T forklift certified.
Mechanic III
All the responsibilities of a Mechanic I-II. Has a Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements. Ability to perform major component changes alone if needed. Can work independently as well as take lead on projects. Can create and receive PO's in our M&R software system.
Mechanic IV
All the responsibilities of Mechanic I-III. Advanced knowledge and skills in electrical, hydraulic, engine, A/C and emissions systems diagnostics and repair. In depth knowledge of our M&R software system. Completion of AMT Leadership training is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess mechanical inclination and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in working on heavy duty equipment. Must have advanced knowledge of hydraulic and DC electrical systems and basic understanding of metal fabrication. Must be an experienced welder in both MIG and stick processes. The ability to troubleshoot complex electric over hydraulic systems and the ability to read and understand both electrical and hydraulic schematics is required. Experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as bills of ladings, tariffs, delivery receipts, military documents, procedure manuals, employee and safety manuals, and routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and clearly with customers, vendors, managers, and other employees. Strong communication skills both verbally and in written form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, area, circumference, volume, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions; ability to prioritize and problem-solve in time/safety-sensitive situations; ability to read and understand wire and hydraulic schematics.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, and the ability to prioritize and problem-solve in time/safety-sensitive situations.
Ability to organize and follow through to completion projects and tasks assigned or assumed; ability to provide objective and decisive action(s) necessary to resolve any/all issues with minimal disruption to operational performance.
Basic computer program skills: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Visio and Outlook.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Hazardous materials training.
Detail oriented, good interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
Must be flexible to work extended hours and adaptable to change.

Ability to maintain accurate records and reports in the provided maintenance software.

Must be capable of working with little or no supervision as well as working as part of a team.
Must provide own toolbox and sufficient hand tools to perform most assigned duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Alaska Commercial Driving License with air brake endorsement.
Valid DOT medical card.
Forklift Operation Certification.
FHWA Inspector Qualification Certification (per 49 CFR § 396.19) and Brake Inspector Qualification Certification (per 49 CFR § 396.25)

About the Role
As a Mechanic based in Prudhoe Bay, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment used in our operations. You'll perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs while ensuring compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations.
This position offers opportunities for advancement through defined mechanic levels (Level 1 to Level 3), depending on experience, skill, and leadership ability.
Key Responsibilities
Work safely and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance and DOT annual inspections.
Respond to in-field service calls for damaged equipment.
Operate welding and cutting tools for repair and fabrication.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve repair processes and reduce downtime.
Assist with outfitting new fleet equipment and maintaining shop organization.
Safely operate light trucks, forklifts, and small tools.
Handle chemicals and hazardous materials per company and DOT regulations.
Lead by example in safety and professionalism, assisting Oilers and Shop Laborers as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience or formal training as a diesel and/or heavy-duty equipment mechanic.
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Valid North Slope Training Card (NSTC) or ability to obtain upon hire.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of facility safety procedures, spill response, and storage guidelines.
Ability to work long hours in extreme arctic weather conditions.
Must be able to take commercial flights from Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay.
Must be able to work 12+ hour days on a rotational schedule.

Level 1 Mechanic (1-2 Years Experience)
Performs general maintenance on Class 8 chassis equipment under supervision.
Handles basic service tasks such as tires, brakes, U-joints, wheel seals, lighting, and air systems.
Performs DOT Annual inspections.
Level 2 Mechanic (3-5 Years Experience)
Performs general maintenance and complex repairs on Class 8 chassis with minimal supervision.
Capable of drivetrain, suspension, and steering work.
Uses diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Cummins Insight, ESA, and J-Pro.
Experience with heavy- and light-duty equipment (Ford, GMC, Volvo, Cat, Bobcat) preferred.
Level 3 Mechanic (5+ Years Experience)
Fully proficient in advanced diagnostics and major repairs with little to no supervision.
Capable of rebuilding engines, transmissions, and differentials.
Expert in troubleshooting using Cat ET, Cummins Insight, ESA, and J-Pro.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability in shop settings.
Preferred Qualifications
CDL (Commercial Driver's License) strongly preferred.
Degree in diesel technology or completion of an apprenticeship program.
ASE Certification preferred.
2+ years of commercial driving experience.
North Slope work experience preferred.
Hazmat or fueling experience a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems.
