    The Mechanic diagnoses and repairs diesel tractors, trailers and other wheeled vehicles by performing the following duties. Job Responsibilities Examines and diagnoses vehicle problems, and repairs according to generally accepted methods Discusses extensive or difficult in-depth repairs with Terminal Manager, and/or Supervisor Demonstrate and enforces CEMEX safety policies and regulations to all mechanics (i.e. lockout tagout policies, hazard assessment) Make sure shop and all repairs are in compliance with OSHA regulations Performs routine scheduled maintenance outlined on PM checklist sheets Plans all routine work procedures Raises vehicle, with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical components for removal, repair or inspection Removes components for repair of replacement such as, but not limited to: alternators, starters, water pumps, radiators, condensers, compressors, clutches, transmissions, differentials, wheel assemblies, brakes, drivelines, gearboxes, pump, rollers, etc. Disassembles components, inspects parts for wear, and determines cause of failure Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems, and components Inspects and replaces parts such as clutches, wheel seals, brake linings, drums, bearings, and all other components as described above Overhauls and rebuilds serviceable components Some regional traveling required to repair company equipment Diagnoses and repairs electrical systems and circuitry in accordance with acceptable industry standards Performs occasional cutting and welding utilizing both gas and electric welding equipment Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wiper blades Enters work orders on system for equipment inventory purposes Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds Meet or exceed company safety standards Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 3 years related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience High school diploma or equivalent 3 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to understand, interpret, communicate, and execute with exactness instructions given in both verbal and written form Bi-lingual Spanish a plus Able to recognize potentially hazardous situations, understanding instructions given by supervisor, possess common sense Ability to deal with mechanical problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Possession of valid Driver's License; prefer Class A or Class B CDL or the ability to obtain such a license within the new employee evaluation period (180 days) with driving record that meets company requirements in order to retrieve or test drive company commercial vehicles Forklift certified or willing to obtain TWIC preferred or willing to obtain Working Conditions Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time Physical Requirements Walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. We are seeking FAA A&P Certified Aircraft Mechanics/Technicians who also have a current Secret Clearance. Do you have these qualification? Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, Our Defense Systems Sector wants you to join our team as an E-11A SCA Aircraft Mechanic 2. This position is located at Robins AFB, GA, and requires you to work on site daily as well as working any shift as needed, when needed. **These positions are Service Contract Act positions. ***Position requires the ability to deploy nationally and internationally for periods of up to 180 days to support CONUS and OCONUS operations when required, to backfill staffing needs, or when USAF customer requirements dictate. Basic Qualifications: 1. FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification or the ability to quickly obtain. Required to Start. 2. Benefits Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees can enroll in KAI's 401k plan. Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays. After completing one year of service, employees will have two weeks' paid vacation. Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
