Overview The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is responsible for maintenance and repairs to keep aircraft working safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of aircraft, components and equipment. Determine airworthiness of aircraft and components, in accordance with established procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations. Service and inspect aircraft, components and related equipment. Perform aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and manual movement. Operate and inspect powered and non-powered ground equipment. Perform structural repair, inspects and identifies for prevention and repair. As an Aircraft Support Mechanic with Delta TechOps, you will schedule and maintain a pre-determined timetable of servicing and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of machinery and equipment throughout TechOps including mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated robotic, electronic and/or PLC controlled equipment. Among the other responsibilities listed, you will perform annual major service TPM's on equipment throughout TechOps that includes making repairs and adjustments to equipment, replacements of fluids, filters, belts, in accordance with approved manuals and procedures. This includes completing minor repairs, adjustments and performing preventive maintenance on equipment which may include motors and controls, pneumatic systems, stock retrievers, conveyor systems, production machines, industrial ovens, and machine shop equipment. The Aircraft Crew Chief Technician will be responsible for the comprehensive ownership and management of a corporate aircraft, including performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the aircraft, hangar facilities, and equipment assets in compliance with governmental regulations. Duties include but not limited to the following: Conducts necessary troubleshooting and/or repair (either on or off wing) on turbine engines. Disassembly and assembly of various models of turbine engines according to sequence utilizing aircraft tools, balance machines, surface grinders, drill presses, and other equipment for repair and/or overhaul. Receives engine parts to conduct inspections using precision measuring tools in order to detect physical defects such as cracks, burns, foreign object damages, proper screws and structure deviations. Evaluates engine parts to determine which parts are repairable or unrepairable; refers to micrometers and other precision-measurement tests to determine further routing to other destinations or to scrap parts. Inspect aircraft engine parts to determine and/or perform NDT requirements. Utilizes applicable database system in order to retrieve information regarding parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers, and/or other pertinent information to ensure proper documentation. Refers to technical publications, specification sheets and/or other regulatory requirements in order to ensure that all tasks have been completed in proper sequence and required signed-off. Customer contact and travel (up to 25% of the time) may be required. General facility cleaning and maintenance. What you'll need: 1 - 5 years or more experience in gas turbine engine/components maintenance and repair. Previous engine maintenance experience in the aerospace field on turbine engines; Honeywell, Rolls Royce and/or Pratt and Whitney experience preferred. Preferred Characteristics: FAA Power Plant license required or must be acquired within 1 year of job award. FAA Airframe license (preferred). Computer literacy skills are required. Must be able to read, interpret and understand technical manuals, work specifications and written work instructions, ability to read micrometers and other precision-measuring instruments. Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally with peers, clients, and public. Ability to get along with co-workers and peers. Maintenance of regular attendance and punctuality with customary tolerance. Correctly complete paperwork for maintenance performed on aircraft. Enter all log items, NRTCs, and task cards into TRAX. Identify and report problems that could impact daily maintenance operations. Communicate with Maintenance Station Supervisor during all maintenance procedures. Maintain an up-to-date OJT file. Assist with training of newly hired individuals, as necessary. Accomplish housekeeping of maintenance facilities, as required. Move and park aircraft as operations warrant. Move and position ground equipment as needed for the maintenance operation. Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.
