Your Mission will be to support O-Level maintenance on the F-35. **Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to)** **:** + **You will be subject to work first, second, third, or weekend shift, as directed by the Aircraft Maintenance Manager.** + **You must be able to depart on temporary duty assignments- on short notice. Primary Level Salary Range: $55,800.00 - $93,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. PENDING CONTRACT AWARD Task Description: Aircraft Mechanic I (23021): Aircraft Mechanics I must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Makes repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic, hydraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Work involves replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this mechanic adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair. May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines. PENDING CONTRACT AWARD Task Description: Aircraft Mechanic III (23023): Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance. Possesses the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. DUTIES (SPECIFIC FOR THE POSITION) * Provide Structural Mechanics subject matter expertise to Design Engineering staff. * Primary responsibilities include equipment qualification (seismic analysis and testing), advanced FEA stress-strain analysis, impact analysis, dynamic loads, design of structures, systems and components, extreme load engineering (seismic, explosion analysis, impact, jet and fragment interaction and whip effects), risk-informed inspection programs, failure analysis, field support and trouble-shooting, and mechanical integrity. * Engineering services shall be provided using the client processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by the client. Work Hours: Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. The client utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.The anticipated work schedule is Mon-Thurs, 6:45 am to 5:15 pm. Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Qualifications: Required * Significant experience in pressure equipment (piping and pipeline systems, vessels, and tanks), design, analysis, qualification, inspection, fitness-for-service and integrity management, failure analysis and repairs of systems and components in the nuclear power and the process industries, and in the DOE complex * Has mastered technical field, is recognized as internal expert, has depth of knowledge to tackle any problem in field. Contributes to advancing knowledge * Must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing * Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance Education: An advance degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering and relevant experience * A Ph.D. degree and about 12+ years' experience, OR a MS degree and 15+ years' experience, OR a * BS degree and about 18+ years' experience, OR * Current registration as a Professional Engineer in one of the above disciplines. Preferred * Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years * Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience NOTE: US Citizenship is required to perform this government contract. The Plant Mechanic will perform as a skilled mechanic in the constant improvement of maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
