PENDING CONTRACT AWARD Task Description: Aircraft Mechanic III (23023): Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance. Possesses the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising, and inspecting the duties of Mechanic I's, II's and III's. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike; must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic, hydraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. Job duties require that this mechanic adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Primary Responsibilities: * Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications. * Use a computer in a production environment. * Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications. * Install various parts and assemblies such as landing gear, aircraft control surfaces, exterior panels, carpets, blankets, roller trays/ball mats, stow bins, sidewalls, ceiling panels, lavatories, galleys, doors, and seats. * Install various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts. * Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task you are performing. * Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts). * Use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdriver multi meters, continuity testers. * Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes. * Inspect your work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris). * Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting). * Work around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise. * Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other). * Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents. * Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to regulation * Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds * Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist and walking. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): * Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre-Employment Training course that is certified for the BPET Assembly Systems Mechanic role. Physical demands and requirements: * Ability to work a variable shift. * Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting). * Ability to carry/lift up to 10-35 pounds. * Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals. * Experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications. * Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English. * Experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power and/or pneumatic (air) tools. * Experience with tubing and ducting manufacturing/installation/maintenance.
