The **Aircraft Mechanic I** **- LUH-72 A&P** performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. · Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. · Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. · Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. · Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. · Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. · Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. · Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. · Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. · Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. · Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested. · When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties. · Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality) **Minimum Requirements** · High School Diploma or equivalent is required. · U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. · All mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements.
