Duties & Responsibilities
Aircraft Technicians are responsible to work with the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor.
Perform maintenance inspections, repairs, overhauls, or alternations of products or aircraft in accordance with the Repair Station Manual (RSM) and current FAR's, manufacturer's data drawings, specifications, and bulletins or other technical data acceptable to the FAA.
Creating work orders and ensuring proper paperwork is obtained.
Making necessary entries on the Maintenance Department's maintenance forms.
Airworthiness Directives to determine applicability and compliance.
Troubleshooting and correcting discrepancies involving the airworthiness of an aircraft.
Moving aircraft in and out of the maintenance hangar as necessary.
Assisting personnel in proper work procedures and practices.

The role
The AircraftMechanic role works as a member of a team performing everything from light maintenance to heavy structural repairs on our fixed-winged aircraft. AircraftMechanic II (Hydraulic):
Electrical Experience: Minimum of two years total experience in related maintenance support with one year of hydraulics as a mechanic. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace structural parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications and drawings. Experience in performing functions such as repairing hydraulic systems on Aircraft or Ground Support Equipment, fabricating, repairing, assembling, or installing systems that use pressurized fluids to operate.
Hydraulic Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of structural assembly and modification engineering drawings; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in structural and mechanical diagrams, blueprints; using and interpreting measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Other: The Contractor shall have the skills necessary to assist in hydraulic system bleeds, and hydraulic operational checks. Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
