Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Mechanic 3 or 4 (APG) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the F-35 O-Level maintenance organization. This role is located at NAS Lemoore, CA.
Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
You will perform Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on F-35 aircraft.
Configuring aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.
You will ensure aircraft are in exceptional mechanical condition and safe for flight by performing maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements on all aircraft systems in accordance with JTD and all applicable programs and service guidance.
You will assist with OJT training for team members and partner aircraft maintenance personnel.
You will maintain and update aircraft records and status within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) of ALIS.
You will keep the production staff updated on aircraft status.

You will perform required Airframe and Power Plant General (APG) / Airframes tasks as part of F-35 Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) performing organizational-level modifications.
You will use your training, knowledge, and experience to obtain special certifications (example: confined space, borescope, Hyd Contam etc.) as locally required.
Must obtain Collateral Duty Inspector Qualification within 6-18 months of position start date depending on prior experience.
Reading and interpreting technical data and blueprint drawings.
Fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with modifications and restoration of aircraft to flying condition subsequent to accomplishment of modifications and maintenance. Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
The individual will practice good housekeeping and follow safety procedures.
You must be able to depart on temporary duty assignments- on short notice and must be willing/able to provide temporary support to our other CLS locations.
Willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year. Able to work on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Weekend Shift.

Basic Qualifications:
Aircraft Mechanic 3: High School diploma or GED and 4 years additional education and/or experience with mechanical/aircraft airframe/power plants/turboprop/avionics and/or crew chief experience.
Aircraft Mechanic 4: High School diploma or GED and 6 years additional education and/or experience with mechanical/aircraft airframe/power plants/turboprop/avionics and/or crew chief experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working overhead.
Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation in order to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
The NNSA Air unit is first and foremost an emergency response team. The emergency we are prepared for is rare. However, mechanics must be prepared to respond if activated. As such, MSTS has very reasonable but strict standby requirements for the response teams.
Standby requirements and considerations include:
Mechanics are required to be on standby as needed, usually 2-3 weeks at a time. Occasionally longer than 3 weeks depending on staffing.
Mechanics are paid $40 per day extra to be on standby.
Mechanics must be within 2 hours of your assigned base while on standby.
Mechanics on standby must have reliable cell phone reception.
Mechanics must remain fit to maintain the aircraft while on standby.
If called out, mechanics must be able to deploy for potentially several weeks straight.

**Responsiblities**
Seeking a motivated Airframe and Power plant technician joint our Aviation Maintenance Team based at Nellis Airforce Base, Las Vegas, Nevada. Daily responsibilities will be to perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and servicing activities on US Department of Energy Aircraft (Beechcraft B-350 airplane, Bell-412/212 helicopter and/or Leonardo AW139) operated by Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS), LLC.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ The NNSA Air unit is first and foremost an emergency response team. The emergency we are prepared for is rare. However, mechanics must be prepared to respond if activated. As such, MSTS has very reasonable but strict standby requirements for the response teams.
+ Standby requirements and considerations include:
+ Mechanics are required to be on standby as needed, usually 2-3 weeks at a time. Occasionally longer than 3 weeks depending on staffing.
+ Mechanics are paid $40 per day extra to be on standby.
+ Mechanics must be within 2 hours of your assigned base while on standby.
+ Mechanics on standby must have reliable cell phone reception.
+ Mechanics must remain fit to maintain the aircraft while on standby.
+ If called out, mechanics must be able to deploy for potentially several weeks straight.
+ Standby positions require an additional physical and various inoculations to maintain a deployable status.
+ Deployments for several weeks at a time are possible for both emergency response and non-emergency response missions.

**Qualifications**

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Deployable Aircraft Mechanic 4 for a rotational OCONUS program based in Palmdale, CA.
You will be responsible for performing minor structural repairs and modifications. Troubleshoot, repair and service aircraft and engine systems. Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions. Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems. All within accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Fabricate, install and test installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses. Read wiring diagrams and blueprints. You may receive additional training and be cross utilized into aircraft low observable maintenance to fulfill the daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements. Low Observable tasks include repair of composite or metallic structures, and sanding, stripping, testing, masking and other preparation tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 6 years of relevant experience in the Aviation and/or Aerospace industry.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by business needs.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.

Makes repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti- icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
