Aircraft Mechanic III (23023):
Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance. Processes the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs. A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Aircraft Mechanic III (Sheet Metal):
Sheet Metal Experience: Minimum of eight years total experience in aircraft maintenance support with two years on F-15 aircraft as a sheet metal mechanic. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace F-15 aircraft structural parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications and drawings. Experience in performing or supervising functions such as fabricating, repairing, assembling, or installing aircraft metals, plastics, fiberglass, composites, or honeycomb parts; and corrosion identification, removal, and applying coatings and markings is required. Experience in specialized skills such as taper locks and cold working bushings may be required.
Sheet Metal Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of structural assembly and modification engineering drawings; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in structural and mechanical diagrams, blueprints; using and interpreting measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Other: Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ten or more years' experience in aircraft maintenance
Five years' experience on F-15 aircraft
Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish
Basic Qualifications:
Eight years Aviation Maintenance experience
Two years' experience on F-15 aircraft
Must be able to work shift schedules as required per Performance Work Statement (PWS)
Must be able work work-week schedules i.e. M-F, Sn-Th or as required per PWS
Basic Corrosion Control Course.

Employees will receive a minimum health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour paid up to 40 hours per week.

Role Description:

Qualifications Required
High School diploma or GED.
Federal Aviation Administration issue Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings or acceptable Host Nation equivalency.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and various levels of leadership in both written and oral form.

CMF 15 aviation MOS series or another military or commercial equivalent to the DHC-8.

POSITION PURPOSE
Performs preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in accordance with standards and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Performs maintenance mechanic duties in all areas inside and outside the hangar as well as at the airport terminal.
* Troubleshoots all aircraft systems. Executes maintenance work orders.
* Uses tools, equipment and test apparatus necessary to assure completion of the work in accordance with accepted industry practices. Verifies that all calibrated tooling is current on its calibration before use. Verifies materials and parts used are of a serviceable condition.
* Verifies that each part or component is effective for the aircraft on which it will be installed.
* Adheres to material handling and control procedures specified in GMM and by the equipment manufacturers. Initiates material requests.
* Evaluates the area and equipment that will be utilized to ensure that safety is not compromised before performing any maintenance action. Applies safety first at all times.
* Maintains a clean, safe working environment throughout the work shift.
* Updates Supervisor on progress of work performed. Reviews paperwork at the end of shift to ensure that all work accomplished is signed for prior to departing the maintenance facility. Assists with completion of shift turnover reports in accordance with procedures in the GMM.
* Completes all department internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including performing maintenance computer system transactions as required (MEL, DMI).
* Provides coaching and on-the-job training as directed.
* Adheres to established work schedule. Participates in shift meetings and briefings as required.
* Submits in writing any suggested changes in operational procedures that will enhance safety and cost effective aircraft maintenance.
* Accesses Company Intranet to become familiar with and utilize the GMM and aircraft manuals. Ensures part effectivity is correct per aircraft.

FAA A&P AR95-20 Medical Requirements:
Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years.
Physical and Additional Qualifications:
Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.

What You'll Do:
Assist with the assembly, installation, maintenance, removal and competently inspect underground facilities, conductors, fixtures, structures and other associated equipment on de-energized and grounded overhead and underground facilities under direct or immediate supervision.
Demonstrate the ability to competently perform ground person duties under immediate or direct supervision as skill level dictates.
Assist with loading, unloading, handling, maintaining, installing and removing poles, towers and structures.
After completion of D-100, or equivalent experience, the employee must demonstrate the ability to operate Company equipment (with exception of digger/derricks and aerial lift vehicles), climb poles, ladders and structures, and work on de-energized conductors and equipment.
Also, may work on conductors and equipment energized up to 260 volts under direct supervision. After completion of D-200, or equivalent experience, operate digger/derrick and aerial devices, under immediate supervision as skill level dictates.
Also, under immediate supervision of a higher classification, may work on conductors and equipment energized up to 260 volts.
Assemble and install Line Material and hardware under direct or immediate supervision
Use and store hand lines, tie knots and demonstrate a basic working knowledge with ropes and rigging equipment inspection and use.
Splice primary and secondary overhead wires using the proper tools, hardware and equipment (including crimping and compression tools).
After completion of D-200, or equivalent experience, under direct supervision, the employee may operate cutouts, line switches, reclosers, and other sectionalizing devices, refuse line and transformer devices.

Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Electrical Experience: Minimum of six years total experience in aircraft maintenance as an aircraft avionics/electrician with one year on F-15 aircraft. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. The Contractor shall also have the skill to identify and isolate integrated systems malfunctions and analyze performance and operate integrated avionics systems to determine operational condition per operational checks. Experience using specialized tools required for military aviation electrical connector assembly/disassembly and other associated electrical terminating devices is required. Aircraft modification and operational checks experience required. Contractor must have experience in electrical harness fabrication and braiding.
Electrical Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, mechanical and indicator principles theory, and application relating to electrical systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; using and interpreting testing and measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Education: High school diploma, or equivalent, with successful completion of related military or commercial courses. Courses in basic electronics, mathematics, general science, physics, and mechanics are desirable.

Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches.
Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures.
Correct any vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, or hydraulics.
Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and determining whether to adjust controls and systems.
Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintain vehicle records by documenting services and repairs.
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
5 years' experience in mechanical field
Mechanical Aptitude which includes, but not limited to: Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs; Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems; welding; use of power and hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
Class A CDL or Class B CDL
(N) Tanker Endorsement
(H) Hazardous Materials Endorsement
DOT Medical Certificate

Aircraft Maintenance Technician
Aircraft mechanic job in Columbus, OH
Cardinal Health is actively seeking a highly motivated, customer-orientated A&P Lead Mechanic to join our team focused on safety, service, and operations. The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing aircraft maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration tasks. This role requires strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Lead AMT works closely with the Maintenance Director and other departments to ensure timely and accurate project execution. Departing from Columbus, Ohio, our Part 91 Aviation department aircraft currently include a Falcon 2000LXS and Embraer Praetor 500.
**_Responsibilities_**
+ Accurately completes all required Aircraft maintenance records and other aircraft documentation such as Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
+ Performs routine inspections and troubleshooting as well as Aircraft Pre- and Post-Flight Inspections
+ Works with Director of Aircraft Maintenance and Scheduler to ensure daily coverage of all scheduled flight activities including launching and recovering trips and passenger assistance.
+ Actively uses knowledgeable of department FOM and IS-BAO procedures as well as all company policies.
+ When necessary, supervise and assist outside Maintenance contractors for specialized aircraft maintenance activities.
+ Maintains the Company Aircraft interior and exterior to a best-in-class standard.
+ Works on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
+ Adheres to all Cardinal Health policies and guidelines.
+ Other duties as assigned.

**_Qualifications_**
+ Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
+ High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of related experience preferred.
+ Previous experience with Dassault Falcon and/or Embraer Praetor strongly preferred.
+ IS-BAO experience preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail-critical eye for data accuracy - strong documentation skills.
+ Be proactive and willing to take initiative and responsibility.
+ Must possess strong computer and troubleshooting skills as well as solid reading, writing, math skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
+ Must be open-minded, decisive, and flexible.
+ Must be very well organized, detail oriented and possess ability to multi-task.
+ Must have ability to plan to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and prioritize workload.
+ Able to work in confined spaces.
+ Ability to be flexible with a rotating schedule
+ Must have a high level of personal integrity.
**Anticipated salary range:** $85,000 - $130,000
