Duties & Responsibilities: Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft. The mechanic will be accountable for completing all work in accordance with AeroGuard Company procedures and requirements, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements. Position Summary The ideal candidate for the Aircraft Mechanic position is a technically astute, disciplined, and team-oriented professional. Reporting to the Site Lead, this individual will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance on assigned aircraft, components, and equipment-including inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting. The role requires advanced technical expertise to resolve complex issues and provide guidance and instruction to fellow team members. Responsible for the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting of Airframe and Powerplant systems on the BAe Hawk aircraft, reporting to the Maintenance Lead in the accomplishment of the following functions supporting Adversary Air Support flights. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, productivity, and responsiveness to the needs of the company, colleagues, and customers. Flexibility is essential, as cross-training and additional duties may be assigned at leadership's discretion to meet evolving mission demands. Requirements Repair, replace and rebuild aircraft structures, system, and functional components. Assemble and install electrical, avionic, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules to maintain optimal performance and compliance with aviation safety regulations and industry standards. Remove and/or install aircraft components, test IAW MM, and troubleshoot aircraft systems. Conduct regular quality assurance audits and inspections to verify compliance with military and FAA standards, identifying and correcting discrepancies. Service, repair, troubleshoot and modify aircraft and aircraft engines. Perform storage and shipment requirements on engines and support equipment to include documentation. Repair, rework and replace components or parts of CFSE to ensure proper operation. Refer to workbooks and technical publications to determine specifications to be met. Perform routine support equipment inspections and maintains and performs necessary corrective actions to include unscheduled maintenance. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, repairs, modifications, and component tracking in accordance with regulatory and internal documentation procedures. Collaborate with aircraft maintenance teams to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and replacements, minimizing downtime and maximizing fleet availability. Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in aviation life support and egress systems; integrate best practices into operational procedures. Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and compliance protocols. Comply with all company, OSHA and customer safety regulations. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely sourcing and availability of parts, equipment, and consumables necessary for mission support. Load and download aircraft weapons systems. Have or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance. Desired Experience/Skills A&P Prior military Proven track record in performing precise equipment inspections, diagnosing faults, executing repairs, and ensuring maintenance compliance. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Effective leadership and communication skills with experience supervising or mentoring diverse technical teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance tracking software; comfortable navigating digital tools for documentation and scheduling. Self-motivated and proactive with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure. Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum). Physical Demands Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Performs on and off aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components Perform complex connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables and fiber optic wiring. Understand wire handling and routing instructions. Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processes. Performs assembly, installation, check-out physical characteristics, operational testing and modification of wire bundles in the testing, development and modification of aircraft in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directives. Responsible for the proper performance of assignments and the prudent handling of product, tools and equipment. Required to consult with management and peers to assess best work process. Will assist and train less senior employees. May be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
