Our Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking an **Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 2** to join our operations team, located in **Clearfield, UT,** working on major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Please note: Only external candidates and NG employees who are not currently aircraft structures mechanics at the Clearfield site will be considered under this requisition. Position Requirements: This position requires **at least** **two years of experience** working on aircrafts with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job in a relatable setting. The candidate will receive general supervision and instructions are given for routine work while detailed instructions are given for new activities or special assignments. They are able to resolve routine questions and perform more advanced functions including drilling, locating, shimming, etc. What you'll get to do: + Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures + Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. + Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. + Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure. + Monitoring and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Basic Qualifications: + High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 2-years of relatable aircraft experience in manufacturing/production experience (or similar) + Perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, climbing up and down ladders, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, carrying tools, testing for and wearing a respirator, and working in awkward and/or confined spaces + DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access required to start, but not required to apply + Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc. + Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends + Must successfully complete and pass the "ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance" within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.
