The CBP Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and aircraft servicing functions on assigned aircraft within an aircraft maintenance and operations environment and in accordance with applicable instructions.
Principal Accountabilities:

This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. Essential Job Functions

Aircraft mechanic job in Santa Ana, CA
This job is at John Wayne Airport Pay: $19.50/hr. Comfortably and continuously lift/move fuel carts and fuel hoses up to 70 lbs. for durations of time. Frequent overhead lifting, bending, stretching push/pulling. * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
* Ability to safely operate a tractor trailer/tanker filled with liquid and maintaining a valid driver's license.
Ale to lift and attach fuel hose to unload fuel from tanker into facility.
* Must possess a California Class A Driver License.
* Driving and operating specialized commercial 10,000 USG tankers
* Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions as it pertains to fueling.
* Responsible for accurate accounting of fuel transactions.
* Ensure the safe and secure operations, in accordance with the highest possible standards of health, safety, security and all government statutory requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must pass pie-employment medical.
* Must pass Drug testing.
* Must be able to speak, read and write in English proficiently.
* Valid driver's license in good standing; (for Cargo Fuelers, class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsement required)
* Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
* Work is done primarily outdoors, must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
* Must pass driver's test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver's license to
drive on Airport Operational Area (AOA).
a Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
Prior Ramp experience preferable.
