**Responsibilities**
+ Perform fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components.
+ Work from three-dimensional blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other similar documentation.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.

* Performs the sheet metal installations, modification, and repairs on Airbus Helicopters airframes
* Performs installations of major and minor modifications per STC instructions.
* Performs cutting, joining and clearance of sheet metal structure per design drawing and standard practices.
* Prepares patterns and/or templates to simplify installation processes and to assure proper dimensions.
* Ensures that installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operation and function.
* Makes adjustments to latches, windows, cowlings and covers.
* Using engineering blueprints, installs prototype parts and close tolerance materials to print for certification purposes.
* Performs sealing of installations. Sealant installations must meet quality guidelines for both form and function.
* Performs adjustments to ensure fit on new installations and modifications.
* Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment in completing work assignments.
* Creates help tools and jigs to make installations repeatable and easier for lower level technicians.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, replacements, rebuilds, and installations on chiller and refrigeration unit electrical and mechanical components and supporting equipment such as: condensing units, evaporators, purge units, compressors, cooling towers, chilled and evaporator water pumps, piping, valves, heat exchangers, motors, hoists, motor control centers, power and lighting panels, fan units, emergency generators, lighting systems, air compressors and drying systems, 13.2 KV/4160 volt breakers, and other similar equipment.
* Perform centrifugal chiller rebuilds, including the replacement of O-rings, gaskets, seals, bearings (sleeve Babbitt, thrust/counterthrust, and roller bearings). Set clearances on labyrinth seals, journal bearings, seal openings, thrust and counterthrust clearances per the manufacturer's specifications using dial indicators, inside and outside micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring devices.
* Perform rebuilds/machinist work on cooling tower gearboxes, drive couplings, intermediate shafts, fan blade pitches, centrifugal pumps, and seal replacements. Utilize reverse dial indicator alignment procedures on all types of shaft alignments and use a variety of precision measuring devices to conform with specified dimensions.
* Utilize CFC and HCFC refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment; maintain records; perform all service and maintenance repairs in accordance with current EPA regulations.
* Carry out additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Qualifications
* Graduate from an accredited Vocational School in HVAC and four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
* Relevant and progressive work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Certifications
