PRIMARY FUNCTION The Aircraft Mechanic - AH-64 performs field and sustainment-level maintenance on AH-64D/E Apache helicopters to ensure aircraft are safe, reliable, and mission-ready. This role includes inspections, troubleshooting, and complex repairs on structural, engine, flight control, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems. The Aircraft Mechanic will also provide guidance to junior technicians and ensure all work is documented in compliance with applicable standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on AH-64D/E helicopters. Inspect, repair, and modify structural, engine, flight control, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and avionics issues using manuals and test equipment. Inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, FOD, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments. * Inspect jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks. Tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction. * Perform full system checkouts and complete servicing on all aircraft systems. * Provide technical direction to Aircraft Mechanic Helpers and Aircraft Workers. * Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have direct reports. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: * May require knowledge of and experience performing maintenance on the following aircraft: UH-60 A/L, UH-60 M, AH 64 D, AH-64E, CH-47 F, MC-130J, HC-130, C-130, C-26, T-38, CV22, V22. * Must be capable of carrying items up to 40 pounds. Heavier items must seek assistance of other workers or weight lifting devices * Must be capable of performing tasks in cramped, awkward, and strained positions and/or climbing up and down ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures. * Must be capable of performing tasks that frequently require: lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods of time. * Ability to read and interpret all aircraft instruments. * Use special test equipment and tools. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence * Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. By executing maintenance procedures in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company standards, you are ensuring safe and reliable flights. Job Responsibilities Will perform tasks necessary to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and accept the responsibility for work performed by themselves and/or in conjunction with others and sign for same on the Company's approved forms. Keep work areas clean. Return all equipment and tools to assigned areas. A&P Technicians will report all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic in charge. Work will consist of and include any and all phases of repair and maintenance of aircraft with the aid of the employee's own tools, specialty tools provided by the Company, the use of test equipment, and Company-supplied technical manuals. In certain cases, and A&P Technician may be authorized to perform required inspection items and assist in Company training programs. Will at the commencement of each repair or inspection initiate the proper documentation. Parts tags will include a complete description of the discrepancy on all removed parts. Determine if the work to be performed is a Required Inspection Item. Verifying, through proper documentation, that any part installed on any aircraft or component is approved for that aircraft or component and has been visually inspected and is free of damage or contamination. Assure that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner. Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor through the Lead Mechanic. Position Specifics Qualifications Required Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid, state-issued Driver's License. Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection. Must possess or have ability to obtain a U.S. Passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting position. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S. Preferred Previous experience with CRJs. Additional Information Work Environment: This job operates inside a climate controlled building.
