Technical Functions
Service aircraft, including but not limited to, mechanical work involved in the dismantling, disassembly, overhauling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, welding, checking, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, installing, and erecting all parts of airplanes required to maintain airworthiness of aircraft and their components
Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections
Certify for the quality of own workmanship (i.e., that it is in accordance with the proper maintenance manuals and references)
Connect/remove ground power and ground start units
Push out/tow aircraft and perform guideman functions
AMT Work Conditions - General Functions
Perform inspections in extreme environmental conditions, including extreme heat (over 100 Fahrenheit), extreme cold (below 32 Fahrenheit), rain, sleet, wind, and snow

Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
You will perform Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on F-35 aircraft.
Configuring aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.

**Essential Responsibilities:**
· Interfaces with operational customer to develop flying schedules and plans major maintenance events, completes daily and monthly operational reports; documents inventory usage, controls workflow. Works with subordinate A&P/ISR Mechanics and technical representatives to trouble shoot, diagnose, and solve unusual and complex maintenance problems.
· Supports aircraft maintenance safety programs and serves as a member on the Safety Committee. · Directs inspections and repairs to correct power plant (engine) malfunctions, including cracked components, oil leaks, etc. Tests engine operations, using testing equipment to locate source(s) of malfunction.
· Oversees removal of engine and major components from aircraft, inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects. Directs repairs of defective engine components.
· Ensures repairs to instruments, avionics and navigation, flight control, electrical/electronic, fuel/oil systems and aircraft accessories are conducted in accordance with airframe technical orders.
· Specialized knowledge of repairs and modifications to engines, structural components, precision repair, functional spare parts, and assemblies.
· Recommends revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship.
· Shall perform the duties of general housekeeping of both the interior and exterior work areas and grounds maintenance of all assigned facilities not covered by host base contracts

**Minimum Requirements:**
· Must have Associate's degree, or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum

The Low Observable Mechanic will be responsible for all aircraft low observable outer mold line structures, materials and applications. Prepares composite or metallic surfaces for coating applications by performing various operations such as sanding, stripping, applying vacuum, performing porosity testing, masking and other preparation tasks. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Work involves replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this mechanic adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair. May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines.
Skill and Knowledge: Shall have the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems and be able to perform general Organizational Level maintenance and possess one or more of the specialties of the assigned aircraft below:
Blade/Pylon Fold, Power Plants and related Sub-Systems, Fuel and Air Systems, Rotor Systems, and related Sub-systems
Must be knowledgeable of technical directives, NAMP programs, and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
Aircraft Mechanic I shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy, and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance.

Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.

Process Visual Information Display System/Maintenance Action Forms (VIDS/MAF) from aircrew or maintenance technicians in accordance with OPNAVINST 4790.2 Series, Navy, and Company Instructions.

Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections

Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
