The Aircraft Mechanic assigned to a foreign field site is responsible to the Off-Site Supervisor for performing duties as assigned. Frequently exercises independent judgment and possesses abilities sufficient to supervise a crew of aircraft mechanics. Performs functional checks of fuel, hydraulics, engines, avionics, and electro-environmental systems. + Advises management of deficiencies affecting aircraft airworthiness. + Maintains aircraft support equipment inventory. + Performs inspections, and accomplishes refurbishment and phase maintenance. + Prepares and maintains aircraft maintenance records and historical documents. + Monitors/reviews deficiency reports for adverse trends. + Uses applicable OEM manuals when performing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting aircraft. + Performs in-progress and follow-up inspections to ensure quality of work. + Researches, orders, and receives aircraft parts. + Prepares parts for turn-in to the supply system. Removes inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floorboards, and related items to provide access for inspection and repair, and replaces items when work is completed. Disconnects instruments, ignition systems, and fuel and oil lines. Assists in dismantling, repairing, overhauling, or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing, and hydraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections. The annualized base salary range for this hourly role is $65,300 to $85,400 and is bonus eligible.
