THESE TASKS MAY BE AMENDED OR OTHER TASKS MAY BE ASSIGNED AS NECESSARY. * Inspects and certifies aircraft at specific intervals as required by OEM and FAA. * Troubleshoots system malfunctions, performs necessary corrective actions. * Documents maintenance of aircraft on appropriate forms. * Removes and replaces defective components. * Complies with Service Bulletins, Instructions, and Airworthiness Directives as directed. * Performs maintenance on Ground Support equipment. * Performs preflight/post-flight turnaround inspections and servicing when required. * Maintains aircraft logbooks and historical data as required. * Complies with safety, foreign object damage, and tool control program requirements. * Washes, waxes, clean and maintains exterior and interior of aircraft. * Serves as a point of contact with the Quality Assurance Representative. * Advises management of problems that may delay scheduled delivery of aircraft to the customer. * Ensures materials issued for assigned tasks are the correct items to repair the problem. * Provides on-the-job training to new employees as required. * Assists with supervision and inspects maintenance performed by FAA-certified and non-certified personnel. * Services oxygen, nitrogen, tires, oil, and hydraulic systems. * Performs Corrosion Control checks when required. * Greets visitors and clients. * Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers businesses and coworkers. * Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary. * Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company and regulatory bodies. * This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. The CBP Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and aircraft servicing functions on assigned aircraft within an aircraft maintenance and operations environment and in accordance with applicable instructions. Principal Accountabilities: Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, technical manuals, and other data as applicable. Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft. Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems. May be required to fly on Government aircraft for relocation, to conduct in-flight checks (test flights) and to conduct trouble shooting that cannot be completed on the ground. May be required to perform official travel to temporary duty sites within and outside the United States. Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft (necessary special tools and test equipment will be furnished by the customer). TASK DESCRIPTION: Aircraft Mechanic II (23022): Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/sub components to include rigging of flight control. Aircraft Mechanic I shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy, and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures. Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance. Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications. Thorough working knowledge of aircraft maintenance records. Working understanding of the aircraft and aircraft systems. Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform. Task Requirements: Process Visual Information Display System/Maintenance Action Forms (VIDS/MAF) from aircrew or maintenance technicians in accordance with OPNAVINST 4790.2 Series, Navy, and Company Instructions. Performs all other required duties as applicable and assigned by supervision. Performs aircraft organizational level maintenance functions on H-1 aircraft. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned H-1 aircraft Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, corrosion control, preservation/de-preservation Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned readiness posture outlined in in the activities plan and daily flight schedule Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, pneumatic, hydraulic, ventilation and heating, flight surfaces and controls, dynamic components, and powerplant systems. Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment. Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/sub components to include rigging of flight control. Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Confined space operations to include fuel cell entry Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections General aircraft maintenance Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system. Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment Perform shift work and/or overtime as required Perform other tasks as directed. General Purpose This position is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on a variety of controls, receivers, transmitters, computers and process indicators to maintain the water treatment plant and remote pump stations. Essential Job Functions * Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, including but not limited to, repair or replace all electronic and mechanical instruments used in chemical dosages, monitoring flows, starting and stopping pumps, set alarm points, calibrate transmitters, receivers and recorders, etc. * Repair and rebuild all rotating equipment; maintain large pumps (up to 500 h.p.), diesel pump, diesel electric unit, vacuum pumps, blowers, air compressors, large electric valves, and chemical feed pumps, as well as a variety of other equipment such as ventilators, heating systems, dehumidifiers and air conditioners. * Repair and maintain electrical equipment such as wire in new pumps, new alarm points, and remote switches; troubleshoot, alter, repair and replace parts such as relays and brakes. * Check and maintain reservoir and high service tanks, including but not limited to, inspect tanks and record readings, inspect pumps, piping, buildings, grounds, and uninterrupted power supply and make repairs, etc. * Change, add, or delete parts of the computer program in the three process computers; may write new programs as necessary. * Serve as Plant Operator simultaneously performing Plant Mechanic duties. * Schedule equipment runs; record elapsed time reading and schedule pumps, blowers, and chemical feed pumps for even time distribution and maintenance. * Maintain parts and supplies; order parts, stock and inventory. * Develop, implement and/or maintain computerized preventative maintenance program for all plant and offsite equipment. * Brief Plant Operators on any problems or special situations which affect operation of plant. * Recommend design changes in the water plant. * Provide technical expertise to consultants, engineers and contractors on large scale plant changes and new systems. * Schedule factory representatives' visits; schedule systems and special projects to be worked on or experimented with in conjunction with factory service personnel. * Attend training programs to keep skills and knowledge current with improvements and changes in plant equipment. * May be required to participate in "On-Call Coverage".
