How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, you will maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta's fleet, ensuring customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs in the Line classification maintain aircraft, aircraft engines, and aircraft components and avionics systems according to Delta and FAA specifications; perform inspections during assembly of parts and after repair or installation of components; and document maintenance procedures including component damage, origin, and condition. Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks): + Performs all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others. + Inspects aircraft or aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness. + Recommends replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection. + Reports issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as required. + Installs, removes, or modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications. + Repairs worn, defective, or damaged parts or components (e.g., damaged gaskets, lines and couplings, cables, and pulleys), using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment. + Inspects completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures, and that aircraft are ready for operation. + Interprets discrepancies or logs (written or verbal) to understand history and nature of issue, to troubleshoot issue, and to identify required next steps (e.g., fix, defer, replace). + Researches, reads, and interprets technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities. + Reviews maintenance records to determine if service and maintenance checks, repairs, and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals. + Maintains repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance activities. + Serves as a technical expert or mentor by providing advice and corrective recommendations to others. + Uses computers, computer systems, and other technology to enter, document, access, receive, or communicate information. + Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. The Satellite Airframe Technician travels to the customer's location to inspect, test, adjust, repair and perform general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of airframe / avionics systems and components on a variety of airframes across the United States and internationally according to manufacturer's specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures and the customer's specifications. Key responsibilities for this position include performing effective troubleshooting on complicated squawks; preparing and completing appropriate documentation; and meeting requirements for a Qualified Inspector (QI) designation. The Satellite Airframe Technician II interacts with customers and collaborates with Duncan Aviation team members to provide exceptional customer service. Essential Job Functions * Performs inspections, servicing and repairs of the most complicated nature on airframe / avionics systems and components on a variety of airframes in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner with no rework and a superior level of quality, craftsmanship and efficiency. Makes sound technical decisions as a technician and when functioning as Qualified Inspector (QI). Proficiently and consistently locates and uses the appropriate technical data to accomplish any and all tasks. * Efficiently and effectively troubleshoots, function tests and repairs the most complicated aircraft systems across a variety of airframes with little supervision. * Prepares various documents for record keeping purposes, as required by Company policy and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, personal training log, etc.). Demonstrates proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system, service plans, Tracker and outside maintenance tracking programs by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance statements, final inspection, closing of squawks and closing of work orders. Coordinates and ensures the completion of customer log book entries for work performed on a customer's aircraft. * Assists with developing and maintaining relationships with area customers, communicating with sales and marketing teams, and maintaining the Company's customer database (CRM) to seek and solicit service opportunities. Responds to customer requests and issues regarding airframe and/or avionics service work. * Accepts full ownership of assigned projects, prioritizing and communicating with customers, Company personnel, OEM's, outside contractors and vendors, as necessary. Ensures the safety and security of customer's equipment during all maintenance phases. * Assists with managing and maintaining adequate and appropriate parts inventory, calibration of assigned tooling, working condition and cleanliness of support vehicles and office / shop spaces. * Performs other duties as assigned by management.
