Primary Purpose & Summary:
The Plant Technician-Fuel operates and maintains various types of fuel handling equipment associated with the unloading and reclaiming of fuel and the disposal of coal combustion products. Equipment maintained and operated may include barge unloaders, stacker/reclaimer, bulldozers, conveyor belts and associated auxiliary equipment. Additionally, operates and maintains various types of coal combustion by-products (CCB's) such as fly ash, bottom ash and gypsum unloading equipment. Maintaining of equipment includes inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical system problems or if problems are complex, seeks/recommends additional resources.
Responsibilities:
1. Performs the safe and efficient operation of fuel handling equipment, such as bulldozers and loaders, unloading and reclaiming conveyor systems, barge unloaders, and stacker/reclaimers.
2. Performs maintenance on all the various types of fuel handling and CCB equipment associated with the unloading and reclaiming of fuel and the disposal of coal combustion products by:
• Visually inspecting equipment for stress and wear
• Changing fluids and parts as necessary and required
• Testing operations as necessary and required
• Initiating orders for regular equipment services and ensuring service is appropriately completed
3. Performs minor mechanical or electrical repair or modifications on equipment or initiates requests for specialized internal or external resources to perform necessary and required repairs or modifications.
4. May work in baghouse compartments making bag replacements and minor repairs as well as tensioning of bags.
5. May perform other fuel handling duties, as needed.
6. Performs all duties in compliance with the company's safety and environmental programs.

Primary Purpose & Summary:

5. May perform other fuel handling duties, as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a 2nd shift Plant Mechanic to support operations at Rockville Crushed Stone in Rockville, Maryland. This position will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of fixed electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, systems and machinery. Also maintain, install and repairs mechanical equipment and machinery. Overtime will be required and shift may be adjusted for business needs.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
* Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
* Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments. Reports required repairs or other findings to Area Manager.
* Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks, and completes all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
* Completes work orders in a timely manner; installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.
* Assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape.
* Performs the appropriate plant equipment inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance for both fixed and mobile equipment.
* Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.
* Performs routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment including handling welding repairs.
* Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager.
* Prepares Plant reports as required and maintain an inventory of regularly used repair supplies or equipment.
* Assists personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
* Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
* Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
* Performs repairs as required on plant processing equipment and performs maintenance on plant grounds as required.
* Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
* Rebuild or fabricate parts; repair electrical equipment.
* Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent
* Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience working in plant or industrial environment.
* Proficient in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
* Certified Welder (CW,CW,CWE or CWRT)
* Knowledge of hot work permit systems protocol
* OSHA certified
* Ability to read and understand blueprints
* Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail
* Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
* Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.

Our Aircraft/GSE Fueler plays an important role in ensuring the safe and efficient refueling of aircraft at the airport. Responsibilities include operating fuel trucks, connecting hoses, and overseeing the refueling process in accordance with safety and aviation guidelines. This role entails conducting fuel quantity checks, monitoring equipment performance, and promptly addressing emergencies or spills. WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AS AN AIRCRAFT/GSE FUELER
· Safely and efficiently conduct fueling operations
· Maintain accurate records of fueling transactions
· Perform daily quality control inspections on equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality
· Responsible for fueling various Ground Service Equipment such as Hydrant Trucks, Fuel Trucks, Tanker Trucks, Tugs, and Belt Loaders
