Tactical Air Support Inc. Aircraft Mechanic Reno, Nevada Salary rate: $30.00 - $50.00/hourly DOE Tactical Air is currently seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. This position will support Tactical Air's fleet of fighter aircraft with over 75 years of combined experience in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years of military adversary contract maintenance. The Maintenance staff are a dedicated team comprised of experienced, A&P-certified, and tactical aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians who all work towards ensuring safe and seamless ground maintenance operations. Responsibilities The ideal candidate for the Aircraft Mechanic position will be professional, highly productive, disciplined, team-oriented, technically astute, and responsive to the needs of the company, colleagues, and customers. This position will report to the Director of Maintenance and will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification, and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment. This position will apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other teammates as needed. Requirements * High School diploma/GED with at least 1 year of applicable work experience. * Current work experience in aircraft maintenance occupational field, preferably in the military or with a government aviation maintenance contractor. * Experience with high performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38). * A&P Certification, or ability to obtain certification. * Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum). * Valid state driver's license. * U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance. The Avionics Technician (E-2D) AM II installs, inspects, tests, adjusts, or repairs avionics equipment, such as radar, communications, navigation, and missile control systems in assigned aircraft. The Aircraft Mechanic II (LUH-72) A&P maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. Requires working knowledge of technical publications. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Responsibility: To perform Intermediate level maintenance and modifications on SE, IMRL and aircraft components in the physical custody of Fleet Readiness Center West Detachment China Lake, in support of VX-9 and VX-31 and outlying areas covered under the IMRL program. Skill and Knowledge: Shall have the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems and be able to perform general Intermediate Level maintenance and possess one or more of the specialties of the assigned aircraft below: Airframe/Structural and related sub-systems Must be knowledgeable of technical directives, NAMP programs, and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures. Aircraft Mechanic I shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy and exhibit effective leadership qualities and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures. Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance. Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications. Thorough working knowledge of aircraft maintenance records. The Aircraft Mechanic performs organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance including inspection, operational test, repair, modification, routine daily, and periodic servicing, and troubleshooting on F-15 B/D, F-16 aircraft, aircraft systems, components, and equipment. Additionally, ensures flight readiness and supports and executes launch and recovery operations. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: * 3-5 years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance with F-15, and F-16 (F-22 experience will be considered). * Experience maintaining other military fighters and FAA aircraft is a plus. * Possess a high degree of aircraft systems expertise and be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions, special tools, test equipment, and troubleshooting skills. * Be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems and be able to maintain and service all aircraft main, auxiliary, secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level and bleed air components. * Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical directives, planning documents, test specifications, technical publications and procedures, and applicable safety manuals. * Must be customer-oriented. * Plane Captain / Crew Chief certified IAW / Government approved certification program for a minimum of one 1 T/M/S aircraft is highly desired. Physical Demands: This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight will not normally exceed 50lbs. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision and acceptable depth perception.
