The **Aircraft Mechanic I** (CH-47) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. + Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. + Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. + Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. + Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. + Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. + Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. + Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. + Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. + Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. + Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested. + Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality) **Minimum Requirements** + High School Diploma or equivalent is required. + U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required. + Valid up-to-date A&P license _(optional_ ) + Shall have three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS). The CBP Aircraft Mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Principal Accountabilities: Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft. Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems.
