(MXTM CH3) Authorizing and assigning duties to Maintenance Staff. Ensuring technician compliance for the Maintenance Log Recording requirement. Ensure potable water servicing equipment is maintained per GMM and maintain file of SWDA-02 forms for five (5) years. (GMM2 CH 11) Maintenance Supervisors and Supervising Managers are responsible to inspect the toolboxes of all New-Hire personnel at the time of their arrival for personally owned tools that require calibration. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Capable of performing, supervising, and inspecting the duties of Mechanic I's, II's and III's. A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
